How you define yr child band 1 or band 2 or band 3 ?

I heard the EMB had not released the result yet, so no one know how to define the banding.

I think we no need to worry too much, many DSS schools have high  quality and the competition is not too high, this is realy a good news for parents.

要看番你小朋友讀既小學, 有幾多個位係band 1/2/3, 而且要看你小朋友係學校全級人數排第幾既成績, 先可以知係banding幾, 亦可以估計到出來, 你小朋友係邊區架? 今年同去年唔同, 因為今年學校既banding係拎今年18/7所考既分班試成績來決定今年小六升中既每間學校band 1/2/3既比例有幾多.

其實教統局係咪會通知小學新的band 1/2/3比例?
如果要估真是好難估. 一估錯滿盤皆落索.

教統局一定會通知各小學今年分班試既結果, 唔係學校就唔知自己有幾多位係band 1/2/3架啦, 學校亦會按各同學成績來分別列出各banding.

Can you pls advise which DSS schools have high quality and lower competition?  As far as I know, most DSS are taking band 2 students, and top DSS like DGS, St. Paul Co-ed are taking top band 1 students and the competition is fierce.

Yes, I can give a  list of good DSS schools.

PLK NGAN PO LING COLLEGE
QUALIED COLLEGE
YMCA OF HONG KONG CHRISTIAN COLLEGE

Take YMCA as an example, there are 44 teachers, 13 of them got postgraduate degree, and 13 of them also are NET teachers. My friend turned down LaSally's offer and sends his second son there. I have some friends' children who are studying in other two schools, and they highly recommend them to me.

From this forum, you always heard about many other DSS school, such as PUI KIU COLLEGE, GT, Logo, Heung To middle school, I think they are good also.

Maybe they are not band1, but there is no problem to me, I am considering a good school, not a band 1 school.  Band 1 just means the students intake mostly are band 1, which is just one of the factor of good school.

Good school and band 2 students still have great chance to be enrolled, do you think is it a good news for parents?

Thanks for your recommendation. It's unbelievable that your friend turned down LS for YMCA.  I also believe those your said are good schools, just don't know if the quality and conduct of students are good as the peer group impact is very high in secondary schools.  Besides, as all these DSS are very new, we cannot see any concrete results yet.  

Do you know if the conduct and behaviour of YMCA's students are good or not?  Hearsay is half and half.
