I think the pros and cons of EC has been discussed in BK at many titles.

For me, so far EC is doing on the right track. She is not aiming too high that she cannot fulfil. She keeps on to improve herself according to the needs.

Some very good things like EC is caring about the kids both physically and academically.

Physically - the teachers will blow dry the kids in the Hall when they are wet in yellow rain day

Academically - the school tries to understand the current capability of the kids first and then set the pace for them. When they find that the kids can learn more, they will supplement more information to them (but not imposing and pushing too far). Moreover, I don't feel any culture of getting high mark is the target (as least this is true among the peer parents that I know)

Spiritually - they themselves as role model to show how kids should be. There once, the teachers and principal themselves act in an interesting drama to inspire the kids how to tackle some social problems rather than just impose rules to them.
