你們會讓子女repeat嗎？

搵緊英國學校，發現31/8是年齡cut-off day, 舉例31/8前己經11歲，就可入讀Yr7, 但1/9之後才11歲，就要下一學年先可讀Yr7.

有無JM子女在本地讀得吾錯，但因為咁而接受repeat?  我聽過有exception 的case， 但吾知多吾多，有無人有經驗呀？

我個仔年尾出世但都唔使重讀喎！

Yr 7 = 1/9/02 to 31/8/03
Yr 8 = 1/9/01 to 31/8/02

That's system is  applicable to state school but independent school do not have to stick rigidly to this system. At least both my son and my friend's son who is studying near London accept children born beyond the cut-off date

It's quite unusual.  Some Hk students can jump 1 level according to their age system.  You kid started primary school very early?

UK is very straight on age system for overseas students (not to locals).  If your kid is REALLY in that age group, and you like that school very much, then you have to accept it.  If you decided to accept it, just think from the good side - the younger group is normally the easier group,  you kid can adopt better than the older group.  F1, F2 is very relaxing, 20 subjects for students to experience.  Honeymoon, on the other hand, it's a very good timing for kids to make friend with local students, play, and learn English!  I will not say it's REPEAT because the academic system is NOT the same.
