今日收到學校通知
話 K1 同 K2 會分開班

所以 K1的會 group埋同一班

而我小朋友的那班 便要轉去新的classroom 新的老師

我想了解一下 依個安排 係咪全部其他區的幼稚園都會咁做

sorry, can't understand your question. as ESF Sheung Wan, there are 2 K1 classes and 2 K2 classes. they were in 4 different classrooms (but in fact no walls for all classrooms); all classes have different teachers and EAs, but at the open play time, all the teachers and EAs will take care all the children no matter which class they are from, all the teachers can remember all (or maybe most) of the students name, so my daughter loves all the teachers and EAs there.

Tsing Yi. There were mixing K1 & K2 in the same class but now have decided to separate K1 & K2 children into different classes commencing end Oct.

WKS also has mixed classes, dunno if they will split class like TY in the near future.  Personally i prefer splitting class into K1 and K2.

其實我唔介意佢分開 K1  & K2
但問題係重乜唔開學時就咁安排
要小朋友適應左到才安排

我囝日日同我講老師名 邊個同學名

家下又要佢掉去另一班
重要樓下轉樓上 成個環境都唔同哂
老師又換埋
同學 我唔知有幾多個會同佢一班定還是掉散了

Me too. My major concern is how smooth is the transition. Also, such change may have certain impact to K2 who will be attending interview next Jan.

There are pros and cons for this. I guess I don't need to talk on cons as most of parents don't like it, but the pros I think are:

1. smaller kids can have a chance to talk to older kids, make them grow up faster
2. Older kids have a chance to take care of the younger kids, make them have a mind of responsility

There must be a reason behind this, so better be open minded, especially in IS kinder. Talk to the school more why they want to do this to get a better understanding, and also let them know what the parents are thinking. This is very important in IS.

I've also expressed my concern to the school of such "inappropriate timing" to have such arrangement. I prefer they either render this policy before  starting of the term or just let it change in next academic year. My child had settled well in the class and loves the teachers and classmates. Is there anything that we can do for our child regarding school's "messy administration" ????
