American education system   

SAT Reasoning Test with at least 1,400 in Critical Reading and Mathematics and preferably also 700 or more in Writing, giving a combined score of at least 2,100
OR
ACT with a score of at least 32 out of 36.
AND
Grade 5 in three or more Advanced Placement Tests in appropriate subjects
OR
SAT Subject Tests in three appropriate subjects at 700 or better.
A combination of APTs and SAT Subject Tests (or other equivalent qualifications) is also acceptable, if they are in different subjects.

SATs and Advanced Placement Tests

Prospective applicants from Canada and the USA taking SATs and Advanced Placement Tests should note that offers are usually made on an individual basis. In addition to high passes in the High School Diploma and the SAT, successful applicants have normally achieved 5s in at least five Advanced Placement Tests in appropriate subjects.

SAT and AP are college entrance qualifications which are recognized by most (if not all) leading universities in the world. All local universities recognize SAT and AP qualifications for admission purpose.

Each year, around 2.0 million (or even more) of high school students take the ACT, SAT and AP tests. They are the college entrance qualifications taken by the second largest numbers of student each year. Only the Gao Kao examination (PRC systems) attract the most number of students to take each year (around 7.0 million).

Each year about 120,000 to 140,000 students take the IB examinations and about 400,000 students take the AL examinations.
