Has anyone received the 2nd stage assessment invitation from Harrow?

My child took the stage one assessment at Harrow on November 2nd. How long does it typically take to receive an invitation for the second stage interview? If the written exam is not passed, will the school also notify us? Thank you!

We  haven't yet.  we did the assessment on 6/11.  Called admission, he said should be around Decemeber.

may I know which year you apply？
seemed that Harrow arranged very few candidates (around 10) in each assessment timeslot and many timeslots across the whole November. My friend's child took an assessment on 8thNov.

My friend applies for year 8 and her kid has attended final interview on 21 Nov. she said there were some years 6 students too….i guess it is competitive

I speculate that the school will schedule interviews in batches according to their priorities, possibly based on the order of application submission and the school's preferences. Every school aims to secure the best students as early as possible. The school might issue the first batch of offers to the students interviewed in the initial rounds by mid-December. If some offers are declined, they will continue to call in more candidates for interviews in batches. This process might continue until March or April until all spots are filled. Therefore, students who are invited for an interview on the 21st might have a high chance of being in the first batch of offers. This is just my personal guess.

Which year are you applying?For Y6, first interview typically is hosted during early Nov.
If you passed, you will  get 2nd interview invitation within 7-10 days.
Second interview typically in mid-late Nov.
Offer should be out before school holiday (13 Dec)

If you didn't pass 1st round, they will typically notify you with result before Christmas break (13th Dec).

Based on my observation, school will not group candidates for 1st round. It has been divided into batches by surname in alphabetical order.
They don't usually call again for more interviews after December. As the demand for spots are much greater than supply. Attractive candidates will be offered a spot straight away (which they usually have a week or so to accept the offer with deposit) and then there will be a bunch (of marginal cases), they will get successful waiting pool. The rest will get rejections (esp for candidates that didn't proceed to 2nd round).
If anyone decide not to accept the offer, they will pick candidates from the successful waiting pool.

That's just how it went in previous year, but not sure whether things have changed this year.
But happy to answer more specific questions, if I know which year you are applying.

I heard people voluntarily submit reference letters.but have not heard admission requesting one.
They probably won't do a background check, if everything you submit is legit?

Yes for my kid. My friend applies for year 6, seems waiting pool.

My friend knows some kids who study at Harrow, and mentioned that there are quite a few bullying issues. Although I've heard a bit about Harrow's luxurious and extravagant style, could there really be some bullying problems? However, Harrow remains one of the most popular schools to apply to, so I am skeptical about whether these claims are true？

I saw online that the first batch of offers from Harrow was already sent out on December 13th, including for Year 6. If you friend is in the waiting pool, might have to wait until March for more openings.

I am unsure about Y8, mine just sat for final stage assessment for Y10 last week.  I guess Y8/Y10 wont' have a lot open vacancies so they tend to do the assessment after settling Y6/7/9/12

Admission said the result should be released in early March.  Did they school ask you for reference letter?
