小兒明年升中一，想入讀此校。可否告訴此校活動&校方對學生學業要求情況

唔識人係呢間讀,好唔好唔清楚,
但樹大有枯枝,有個學生,時常著校服到信德7仔買'袋袋' .店員唔賣俾佢還聲大夾惡,
有次佢又買'袋袋' ,咁啱有警察經過,查問佢,他原來得十三歲,
雖然可能係個別事件,做家長都係留意吓好.

My son is studying there in F.1. Last Sat I went there to collect my son's examination result.  I had a chance to talk with a prefect who took care of the class of my son.  According to him, the students there are quite nice, not as naughty as the other boy's colleges.  He said 訓導主任 also said so.  My son was in top of band 2 during P.6, but he can only rank the 2/3 of the whole form.  I think the overall academic performance is quite good, but not as stressing as St.Joseph etc.

F.1學生分班是跟據中一暑期預備班考試成績分三個級別, 最低的級別要補底.  F.2及F.3 就random分班, 但有一班是用普通話教中文, 成績好的同學多數揀讀, 變相成精英班

Hi cccw,

My son was interviewed by two teachers in English.  First it was causal talk.  I originally thought one of the topic would be "What do you usually do on weekends ?  

As it was me to take him to all the classes on weekends. e.g. Kumon English, piano and badminton etc, so I told my son if the question was like this, then, he just simply told the interviewers what he did on weekends.  However, the question was "What do you usually do with your father on weekends ?" Then, my son was so straight that he didn't change the person from "mother" to "father" but just told the interviewers his father didn't do anything with him !!  My goodness !   So don't step the same mistake as what my son did !

After that, my son was given a passage about animal abuse.  My son was asked about his own opinion.  Then, he could reply quite O.K.   

So this is what he did in the interview.

謝謝你的分享, 若然 F.2 就讀精英班 (普通話必須很棒, 是否需要由老師甄選呢或是由同學自由揀讀), 那麼 F.3 則不用分班,對嗎?

請問你的兒子是否直接由小學升至中學部或是由其他小學投考此書院呢 ?

非常多謝的意見。可否告知你的兒子現在讀 Form 幾 ? 在此就讀會否壓力很大 ? 當初中一時跟由小學部直升的同學溶入有否困難 ? 我的感覺英文 & 普通話必須有一定的水平, 否則便有困難。

I still need to adjust myself to this school as I am still new here.  HeHe !

Originally my son felt isolated because his English was not so good and also too soft, but luckily that there was a growth camp in last two weeks.  There were games for developing team work and it helped a lot.  After the camp, my son said it was much better now.  

What I can do now is to talk with him, let him feel supported.  Even he failed in the first few quiz, I didn't make any noise, as I understand he need to get adapted to this new enviornment.  Luckily he got all passed in the last examination.  I wish he can gradually get involved in this school and enjoy his school life here.

每個孩子必須得到父母支持才可跨前去, 只要他漸漸溶入社群, 必定將優點發揮出來,表現更為出色。努力吧!!!   

從學校網頁資料, 似乎頗著重體育&音樂, 請問未知是否如此呢?

入讀英中, 壓力是一定有的, 而且都幾多test.  學生小圈子會有, 但男仔比較易傾得埋, 唔係好大問題.  我囝囝今年F.3, 一直都讀得幾辛苦, 因為英文唔夠好, 成績只係一般.  雖然話讀得辛苦, 但校內生活又幾開心. 以男校嚟講, 學生有啲百厭, 但唔壞.
