i was in Vancouver for a long time and also worked in the UK. Most of my friend in Canada go back to HK after graduation/ a few years of work as the job market is not good there. Some have even moved to calgary to find jobs. Also the tax rate is high and the disposable income is low. UofT and UBC are very good university though but there're too many chinese. During my years there i didnt have much exposures to ppl other than chinese. I do have some friends who are smart enough and moved to the States for grad studies but they're jsut a few of them. The chinese population in Canada is so concentrated that it would be very tempted to stay in this circle of trust. Later on i moved to the UK for work and settle in. It gave me a brand new experience that i never had in Canada. The culture/ history there truely moved me. Although im a minority there im more incline to mingle w ppl from diff race and nation. Now when i step back and looking for a suitable place for my next generation, i would prefer the UK. However this is very personal experience and opinion and you may have a different view. to summarise, if you would like a stable, peaceful environment then canada can probably give you a life like in heaven. if you would like to have adventures, exploration and more life experience the UK maybe a better place. God bless! |
