I went to both AA and NIS today. I really like the environment at AA, beautiful and huge campus. Also, I found out they this campus for primary is totally a private school unlike the two others in Kowloon. Also, they will fade out the existing high school in this campus and turn into a private school with same methodology, approach and curriculum.
I watched the current primary classes a bit and similar to some IS, small class size, with a homeroom teacher and a TA. Everything in English except one Chinese Language subject taught in mandarin. Even Chinese classes have one for non-locals and the other for local Chinese if they want their children to move on to local secondary. The teachers are mostly Americans and i saw a variety of students with Caucasians, Korean, Malaysian, Chinese etc. I especially like the Mandarin teacher who graduated from Beijing University which the class seems fun from just observation.
I don't really care about secondary or University by now because I believe if they are being inspired and taught with a creative mind and able to pick up two languages in their primary, it is not difficult for them to get in school or college of their choice.
although this school is new, but after the visit, I will apply and put this on one of my top priority list other than ESF. |
