HLYIS 難入嗎？

I have visited the school and I like it very much. Is there anything that I can do to increase the chance of admission? Can HLYIS parent share our experience of application and interview? Thanks!

As classes approach capacity, particular consideration is given to:
•Students who are native English speakers,
•Students who contribute either to the multi-cultural or gender balance of the class,
•Siblings of children already attending at the school,
•Children of staff working at the school,
•Students who are residents in Hong Lok Yuen.


All students whose native language is not English must take an assessment to determine whether they can be supported.

For application, all you need is fill in the form, nothing really special.

For interview, normally they will have a teacher to talk/observe the child (depends on how big the child is). While the partent will be invited to talk to the VP or P. They are looking for parents who can communicate in English fluently, as all the communication between school and partent will be in English. I believe they are looking for the family who share the same ideas about how a child should be raised.

Thanks! So do you belong to those priority group? We are local Chinese and not living in HLY. Just afraid the chance is low

Yes I have read those in their website. We are not one of those priority group and so that's why I have this question

We are not foreign passport holders and not living in HLY.

Actually the school really tried to keep a balance in nationality and gender, thus certain percent of Chinese will be accepted.
