Jolalee, do you mean I need to go outside to study a year kindergarten program before entering kcis? ... Yes Wingtang, for CAIS (not kcis) their youngest year available requires the child to reach age 5 by Dec 31 of the admitting year. Here:
http://www.cais.edu.hk/JoinCAIS/Admissions
Admission Criteria
Preparatory | 5 years old before December 31 of year of entry | Grade One | 6 years old before December 31 of year of entry | Grade 2 to 12 | Entry grade level will be determined on an individual basis |
Are you looking for just kindergarten or a thorough school (from kindie to high school grad)? All thorough schools has lots of applications, so if you're looking for something with less competition, you may also apply for some good kindergartens, such as Greenfield and Anfield, which will help your child adapt to the language if that is your worry. Anfield's teachers are very loving and caring, but at the same time maintains good disciplines for the children. Not sure if it's easy to get in, but at least Anfield doesn't have high school (yet) so i am guessing it'd be easier to apply than those that has it.
