交40萬俾啟新書院

想諮詢下，我仔英文無問題，想返英基，但係擔心因為係香港人，英基無俾interview的機會，係否提前交40萬俾啟新或者交50萬俾沙田小學安心D？

今年9月要報名，今年如果取消CAT1 and CAT2，是否全部都給Interview的機會？我只係想買個interview機會咋。

如果不是來自英基幼稚園，又無siblings，錢又不是問題，當然繳40萬會機會大D囖，而且不成功又會退回那5萬，無損失架

I don't think you're going to lose 40萬 even if your son gets the offer from 沙田小學 as both belong to the ESF 'group'.  You can check with 啟新 to play safe.

如果你想一定有機會interview, 又唔介意比50萬，咪買個機會囉。你最初都係比5萬先，interview後收你小朋友先比埋尾數，但fail, 會退返5萬比你。

But most probably, they will put u in waiting list. It means they will keep $50k but seems no hope for seat. That's the point, so I refuse to pay.

No they won't put you in the waiting list if you go for the NR. You give them $50K deposit. They will test your child. If he/she  past the test, he/she will be given a seat, if he/she fail the test, you will be refunded with the $50K  

You should have done some homework.

如果最終冇位比你，佢地會退番5萬比你，收你個小朋友先要比足50萬。我地原以為肯比錢就實收，點知今年都有幾多小朋友failed 咗interview, 跟著退返5萬比啲家長。

I know other cases of student not paying NR and still get admitted to DC or RC. NR is not a must.

What are you looking for? Why did you apply RC for your lovely kid?
When my son got the offer few years ago, I didn't have any doubt because I knew this school was suitable to him. If RC is not your cup of tea, pls give up the place as there's a long waiting list. Sorry for my rudeness.

No matter whose give the placement up, if the school is suitable to your kid, why you have doubt of that? Trust the ability of the kid and glad of the school choosing kid according to their ability not $$ or relationship

May I know in which year is your son admitted in RC? My situation is a bit different. I sent my son to international kinder. International school is my only option. His english should be acceptable to RC. While there are only two affordable international schools close to Shatin i.e. Shatin junior and RC. We cannot take the risk of loosing the chance for these two. 400K seems unavoidable. What if he got interviewed but stuck in the waiting list or cannot even get an interview. Any opinion?

What you mentioned will not happen. Under the nomination rights scheme, you pay an initial sum of $50,000 and they will give your child an interview, if your child passes the interview he/she can enroll right away if you pay the remaining sum, there is no wait list. You may decline their offer, in which case you will forfeit your $50,000, or if your child fails the interview you will get your $50,000 refunded.
