I heard ISF had rejected one of a triplet, accept the other 2! It is a bit irresponsible, as parents need to make a difficult choice.

Result came out already? The lady said will be the end of march on the interview day. Are there few groups with different interview time?

Monster parents not only pushing kids crazy but also schools. Sibling priority is now the lowest priority among debenture and staffs. Even IS looks for higher potential kids based on the interview assessment in order to produce graduates with better college placements or IB results.
One of the parent in the HKIS interview said that GSIS explicitly told her that sibling is not a consideration and my colleague with the elder one in CIS being told that his involvement is not enough, it is unlikely his younger one will have any priority. Sigh.....

If I were the parent, I will drop it. Those schools do not consider the parents and kids feeling and needs are not good schools.

But this is not easy, ISF admit at year 1 and what if all three landed in tier 3 IS? Will the other 2 blame the parents (and their brother) one day?

It depends on how you tell them. Even the two brothers might think they lose a chance to study in a good school (though that school is not successful enough), unity and family tie is more important to plunge the unlucky one to study in 3rd tier IS.

Similar things happen in St Paul Co-ed (the LS equivalent of CIS). I heard an incident: the elder studies there and not outperforming. The younger applied and rejected. The elder wrote a letter to the principal asking for a favour. And..... no reply, the school didn't even bother to waste time to write a reply or to speak to the elder boy!!

It is a cruel place out there, in these so called elite schools. Its all blood and tears, so to speak.

I know a gal who is very sharp to get both SPCC and DGS offer. She finally chose SPCC as she has a younger brother. She does very well at SPCC and still her little brother didn't get an offer. So all is about the applicant himself, not necessarily be the influence of his siblings.

I know this sounds naive but just to give the school the benefit of the doubt, perhaps the rejected sibling really wasn't a good fit for that school and while his brother/sister may thrive in that particular educational environment, he/she may be suited to something completely different.

Regardless, I think most parents would find it hard to reject a good/highly coveted school place because a spot wasn't offered to the sibling.

Yes. Select and being selected, it is fair enough.

A balance of probabilities might be more reasonable as we are not criminalizing the culprit here...hehe
