My son enrolls in YMCA TST for 1 yr at Climber's class (kind of like PN), in Sept he'll be going to K1. Very loving and caring teachers. Teachers are ABC or East Indian, classmates are local, mainlander, Japanese, Korean, & few mixed kids. English environment, free play style, no Chinese & homeworkes. Absolutely happy environment!! Most kids move onto International schools at K2 or K3. Some move onto to local primary schools after graduates but attends another local kindergartens in the afternoon like us, then your child will know both Eng & Chinese. Actually quite a bit of my son's classmates goto local kinder in the afternoon coz the parents haven't decide whether local or international stream. Well, my family situation is that my hubby doesn't know Chinese, thus I want my son to learn Chinese both read & write. Some of my son's classmate's sibling already in IS like ESF or Harrows, the parents all agreed that learning Chinese is much harder than English. You can let your Child to attend those Chinese tutor center but is hard to get them interested if they attend IS kinder. I guess if you target IS especially ESF, why you want to your child to switch to YMCA? Lots of YMCA grads goto CAIS & ICA.
