Anyone studying in Japanese International School?

Anyone studying in Japanese International School? I want to know the comments about this school. I want to send my child to study in international schools but i know that the competition is very severe, that's why I want to choose some less popular but good school.

JIS by all mean is not less popular nor easier to get in. it only accepts 20+ students each year for prep class and it fills up mostly by siblings. it requires high English standard too.

i don't think it's easy to get in at all, as there are so many japanese families in hk, i see many kids waiting for its school bus in the morning at my estate

Japanese families are studying in the Japanese stream which usually non-Japanese will not be admitted unless they have very good japaneae speaking at native standard.
JIS international stream is composed of probably 10% Japanese, 10% Westerners and the rest of Asian + Hong Kong with 130 students in total so you wouldn't see "many Japanese" in JIS. Japanese nationality has no priority in JIS...
Having said that, they share the same campus that's why they are often mistaken.

so the medium of instruction in the international stream is solely english? do students learn japanese too or as a elective?

international stream teaches everything in English. student choose either Mandarin or Japanese as elective.
