IS vs local University enrollment

We are planning to send our kids to IS but did concern about the options of university enrollment. Are majority of kids graduated from IS will study oversea university? How is the competition for them to enroll the local university?

The simple answer is that local Us choose the best students, irrespective whether they are JUPAS or non-JUPAS.

Why not take a look at the actual placement of the schools you are looking at?

If your target is local Us, doing the IS route has certain risks as Non Jupas is going to be more and more competitive.

An obvious alternative is local school and local/foreign Us, which is a safer route.

Broadly speaking, about 20-30% attends local U, though for some with greater overseas connection like CIS HKIS CDNIS etc the % is about 10%+.  

Most attends the better known local u like HKU, CU, HKUST, that said, it may not relate to the schools but rather individual merits.

Many 2nd or 3rd tier local U loves to enrol IS graduates, as i heard, but  i guess most studenets would rather study abroad if they can't get good enough offers from the top 3.

How old is your kid now? It is really uncertain about how local Us will admit non-Jupas students 10 years later! If local U is your only choice, I think starting with local school will be a safer path, and you can consider IS again a few years later when the kid is older.
