anfield play session = interview?

I just got a letter from Anfield saying that my boy needs to attend a play session. I thought Anfield doesn't need to have an interview, position is given in a first come first serve basis. Does anyone know anything about this play session?Everyone applied has to attend? Is this a selection process?? Please advise.

In the past they do first come first serve. But this year, maybe more applicants now they have play session as some kind of selection program.

I believe an invitation to the play session is as good as having an offer under normal circumstances.

No, as far as I understand, after the first offer confirmed by parents, and some parents gave up, the school will arrange 2nd round of play session, and choose students so to fill in the place.

我覺得都會有唔少人會放棄
因為要俾14K留位費。雖然話是可以offset學費的，不過只是適用於會入讀的人。 對不能在現階段決定的家長，14K就有機會會攞唔返。
是不是“好多人”放棄offer就唔知

We will be going to the play session in WP. Kowloon Tong has nursery too? I thought only WP offers nursery.
