Did anybody apply ESF Wu Kai Sha and get invited for play session/ school tour ? Did they screen already the application and is the chance of getting admission is high if being invited?

Hi, yes WKS, we had the school tour last week n the school visit was this morning.

So how was it? Mine is at 1:30pm today but my girl already sleepy :(

I was told WKS will send the first acceptance letter around early next month.

My trick is to give my little sleepy girl a sugary drink before we get in the interview room/playroom.   It works all the time

Mine was 0830, he was ok. Took him quite sometime to warm up and the teachers too. The teachers seemed a little dull and uninterested at first.... Really not sure how my son did. Anyway, all the best!!!

But my girl did not perform well so maybe we won't be able to get a ...

No idea ah... I wonder what their criteria is....

I suspect, and I stress this is only my suspicion, that they assess the parent's English more than the child's, and check if the child could understand and react to the parent's English, I don't think they expect the child to say much. When I went for an ESF kindergarten play visit two years ago, most of the kids were very quiet and just concentrated on playing.

Funny you said that because we saw the principal giving a father a stare when he spoke to his kid in Cantonese.

I wonder if they are picking active kids becoz this suits their teaching values

When my son was in the room he hopped around all the different activities before he settled for the play-doh area and each time a teacher or EA would come and speak to him... but he wasn't warmed up yet so he seemed a little shy and maybe a little rude too... but in the end you could hear him talking loudly and laughing a lot... not sure if that was a good thing though... coz it was after all the talking and observation.
