I agree to what you say about the amount homework, however what's the expectation of extra activities from school? Some say the school has little homework compared to local schools however requires students to spend more time to take up interest classes. Is it mandatory to participate at least one?
Every school has its con (not so good areas), what do you say they are?
Frankly speaking, if the school does not need the children to write some copy book, how can they write neatly. If he just write the word/sentence one or two times, it is just easy learning -> fast forget. Notice little homework may not imply simple examination. Everything is built on hardwork
Let's say individual needs are taken care of according to each kid's needs.
Not all kids have poor handwriting so copybook is not part of the regular HW.
My boy, however, has horrible handwriting, so the teacher did give him a few sheets of copybook to complete last year.
PK teaches Eng with phonics, so repeated writing is unnecessary.
The kids need to write new Chi words 3-5 times to help them remember.
Hi everyone,
Before my daughter got into PK, I was expecting a very limited homework... but it was not, I did complain a lot at the beginning as they were not as relax as what I expected.
My daughter is now P2 and I think both of us are get used to the school practice and I do think that the volume of homework and the way of teaching are Super! Especially that I am amazed at the students' ENG reading ability.
They can really learn ALOT in a very enjoyable way.
My daughter is in P1 and I would say PKC's homework is not heavy but yet little either. The major homeworks are reading and thinking, only little writing. I believe many kids will only need 1 hour but my daughter needs 3 hours to go thru them as it's very difficult for her to sit in front of the desk well for over 5 minutes.
