GF基本上都喺本地，大陸學生，都有印度人。DMK 多D 外國學生，大班。如想學普通話GF, DMK英文好D。

Thanks for ur insights! I will go to gf tmr to take a look. I am a bit reluctant to go dmk yet, cause Everytime when I call, the lady will just ask me to submit my application before she can show me around in the campus. This is really irritating, I feel that they r just eyeing for money

Yes. U are right！the admin staff at dmk is very rude. That's why my daughter join gf's pn class.

My son attended DMK in the past and i must say i hated their admin staff as well. However, compared with GF I would definitely put my child in DMK (just between these two schools). First of all academically DMK is stronger with a more international mix, secondly you have a primary school to fall back on if anything else goes south. Remember ESF is on lottery basis so even a child with perfect English still has a chance to not getting in, if the family draws a number at the end of the queue. Do not make an education decision based on the quality of the secretaries (although i did feel wonderful saying to them that we're leaving your damn school because you're so horrible, even thought the decision in truth was due to other reasons ).

If traveling is a possibility, do consider the schools in DB. I did it for 3 school years starting when my child was only 12 months old, and i still do not regret doing that for the benefit of the child. I have friends who continues to do so with kids going into Primary school this coming year (i have moved away from TC to HK island since last year).

So u sent your kid to dmk. Which campus did u go on the end? Is the campus in db better than the one in Tung Chung? Thanks so much for ur insights!

I did hear good things about DMK-DB, but given it is the same school (with probably a better admin team in DB, my guess), I still wouldn't go all the way to DB if i have an option to stay in TC for the same school.

My child attended DMS (Discovery Montessori School) in DB until he was accepted into a reputable through-train school (as in one that goes all the way to high school graduation). I would have stayed in DMS until the end of kindergarten if the mass intake for most through-train IS doesn't start around K2. Anyhow, the decision is mainly due to my own preference of a Montessori education. If i'm not a Montessori fan, i'd go with DMK. It is a great school and probably the best one in the TC area (excluding the new ESF-TC campus, given we have moved away before they open).

I never visited the school myself, but here's what i gathered from my online info-gathering & from my friends' visitations:

1) It is a good waiting school (As in, if you are new to HK and your children are waiting to be accepted into other IS, then it is a good school to attend while waiting for other options).

2) The environment is very natural and relaxed, right by the beach. Draw back: it is mosquito infested so you need to spray your child every morning before going to school.

Any other parents with more info please feel free to comment, as my info is mainly 2nd hand.
