Congratulations ! For sure your daughter will enjoy the life in MCS. It's a good school and the teachers in general are very nice and considerate.

I don't see any pressure but if you aim your daughter to be in the top notch, then, it's another case.

My daughter likes the school very much. So, it must be fun in school and that's why she loves the life there.

Don't worry too much !

Only that MCS wants the girls to develop the interests in reading or maybe you could start now to caltivate her reading interest.

我有以下的問題, 請問可以幫幫手嗎?

1.        其實我聽來聽去入到MCS 都只是來始SC 及KV, 是否還有第三間呢?
2.        我還知道在首輪計分制, 表格上是否要列明小朋友讀那所幼稚園呢?
3.        表面看, 好似入到MCS是與幼稚園沒有相關, 但是真的是這樣嗎? 大家都20分, 校方又會怎決定呢?

1. As SC and KV have more of the classes, it gives the impression that most girls are from these two schools, actually not. My daughter has classmates from kindergartens like Victoria and Cannan, ...

2. Sorry, can't recall whether or not you have to fill in the name of the kindergarten.

3. It really has nothing to do with your kindergarten unless it goes to the stage of 'knock door'. When there are girls with same marks, they will do by lucky draw. 100% fair (in 1st round).
** Why I don't incl fairness in 2nd round is due to some parents using fake addresses.

Usually how long does your daughter take to finish her homework everyday?

How much does the school emphasize on other "soft skills" like presentation skills, leadership, interpersonal skills, problem solving...?

The principal tells the girls to make it a habit to bring along story books no matter where they go, even when visiting the dentists. Now, my daughter automatically puts a book in her bag when we go outside for shopping or dinner and read whenever it's possible. Of course, you have to find her interesting ones, not for the sake of feeding new vocabularies.

For homework, she usually finished within an hour when she's in P.1. Now, taking a bit longer time.

The school lets the girls be little prefects, subject helpers to train them to share/help/lead. They also have 'Show and Tell' lessons of which the name should have been self-explanatory. Or, they sometimes form little groups to do presentations in front of the classes. There's also a lot of positive reinforcements like the teachers will give the girls stickers/little papers when they behave well, do good in dictations/test or answer questions correctly.

MCS is the dream school for quite a lot of parents and our daughters are so lucky to be in this big family. So, let's help each other out and have all our little sweeties enjoy the school life there.

from my experience, my daughter only in P.1 for 3 months. I have a big pressure in the 1st and 2nd month about her eng hand writing, chinese subject and read 2 story books every week plus extra story books from her borrow from the library.
Because she had been studied in eng kindergarten before, so her chinese vocabulary are bad. She can't read the chin story book by herself. And she always borrow the eng story book instead of chin.
Now, my daughter's chinese are much better than before. After her mid term test, and she got good results. Then I can 放下心頭大石 now.
Finally, I found out that take it easy, not give my daughter much pressure and when she had mistake and chinese vocabulary problems, just forgive her, she is still kids.
