大坑真光好似無人講, 係咪有什麼問題唔好呢 ? 呢3間都有直屬中學, 我都有興趣, 唔知大家會點排位 ? 邊間好

St. Clare's 明年開始的一年級,會轉全日,學校似乎都好決心改革,增加左電腦室及活動英語室,我都打算安排細女兩年後入讀.

In terms of fame: Sacred Heart >True Light>St Clare
In terms of Eng: Sacred Heart is the best. They use Eng P3  textbooks for P2 students.
Teaching Method: both SC: traditional, but not TL
Teachers: reflected by the teaching method, many in both SC are quite old.
Extra Curricular Activities: TL provides more than the others
Campus: TL the best

Thanks Emma for your detailed analysis. Yes I like TL's campus with swimming pool. That's not much schools in HK have. But I'm afraid both SC and may be TL also are old and traditional. I'm a bit worry their teaching method can keep in pace with the world today or not. You know academic achievements does not mean everything nowadays. Our kids need to learn to be presentable, with self-confidence and good interpersonal skill, not just humble, polite etc. treasured by traditional thinking.

So, I've also applied some DSS school for my girl also. But I also worry that these schools are too new to come to a conclusion that they are good or not.

I studied in Scared Heart before they are using the English book like Emma 1999 said. When I studied I apply True Light and Scared Heart.
But of course 1. Scared Heart

Thank you all. I also want to know the home work pressure. Which one will be better ? As I'm a working mom and I usually back home at about 8:00. After taking dinner, not much time to accompany my girl to do her home assignment in fact.

Sindy, so what do you think which one has more opportunity for going into their secondary school ?

你講的聖心，係私校部定係津校部？ 見你提的另外兩間都係私校，咁我當你係問私校部先啦!

三間都係好學校，不如三間都考左先在諗？ 除了其他媽咪所講，我覺得仲有以下因素要考慮 ：

聖心 - 半天制 - 上午班 / 地點 ：中環堅道
聖嘉勒 - 半天制 - 一年上午，一年下午 / 地點 ：西區般咸道
真光 - 全日 / 大坑

功課方面，其他兩間學校不太清楚，聖心小一至小三功課量不多，通常1小時內可以完成。 一年2測2考。 以我觀察，老師年齡並非如另一個家長所說咁"老"，年輕的老師也不少。 教學方面雖然並非活動教學，但在某些科目(例如 ：數學，oral)會採用較靈活的活動/遊戲方式教學。 英文科功課多數係堂課，因為老師覺得係堂上做的功課先可以真正睇到小朋友的領悟程度。

其實間間學校都有唔同特色，要睇下你女女適合邊種。 仲有，如果你考慮埋中學問題的話，真光中小學同校舍，聖心中學在置富，聖嘉勒中學在摩星嶺。

i agree with the ranking of Teresa.
Sacred Heart is the best of three in all terms, as I believe in culture. Aside from the teaching skills, culture of the school is very important. Our ex-CS, Mrs. Anson Chan is also old girl of Sacred Heart.

Thank you for all your comments. I believe Sacred Heart is the best of all. Surely I will apply the 3. But all 3 has its pros and cons to me.

TL -- the best in terms of location and facilities and it is whole day class. But I have a friend who is graduates of St Clares, said TL is not that good in fact, not comparable with the 2 SC.

St Clares -- too far away, esp. going into secondary school. The location is really too remote. But it will change to whole day instead of half day next yr.

Sacred Heart -- should be the best but I personally prefer whole day class.

So, I try to gather more information on the teaching style and work pressure etc. I want to find a school which my sweetheart can study happily and I can handle her schoolwork without too much pressure as I really can't spare too much time on her on weekdays. I was scared to hear some school require the students to work until 11:00 to finish the school assignment.

Dear AQMum,

One of my kids is now studying at St Clare PP2 (K3). I'd like to follow up some points for you,

1) homework load: I've attended a P1 admission talk for St Clare's K3's parent held in this Sept. The Supervisor said they expect their P1 students will take only around 1 hour to finish homework when they're in whole day P1, and the students can be free for their family activities during weekends.

2) Oportunity to own secondary:
The school said there're 109  F1 places for their own P6 student every year. There will be max 3 classes of P1 at 2005-2006. ie about 100 students in total when they are P6. Places for this batch of students should be enough. (The Govt existing policy for the school connecting will be valid until they're in F2.)

Dear AQMum,

I have already signed the letter for St Clare's P1 place reservation. My daughter will most probably study in St. Clare Primary.  It has all the fectures of a "good" school: high english standard, students are confident, polite and well-disiplined, enjoyable school life, connected english secondary, smart uniforms etc. The only weak point is low profile. It's much lower than True Light or 聖心 in turns of fame, but these two school's students have a higher pressure of study. There're always pros and cons.

Actually my daughter studied in True Light K1 and then St Clare K2-3. I've given up True Light because St Clare have a higher english level. Also, I learnt that the homework load in True Light Primary is  quite heavy.

I won't consider 聖心 because pressure of study is too high, even it has the highest fame and it's the nearest school to me.

My younger daughter is studying in St Paul Convent Kinder. It's really a dream school as other baby-kingdom parents described.  I'll still try to apply SPC P1 for my elder daughter, but I understand the chance is very slim.

REally thank you for your sharing. I have 2 daughters also. So, I really want to help my elder girl to go into a good school. I didn't realize the importance of finding a good kindergarten when I apply kindergarten for my daughter. I simply find one nearby as I don't want a girl of 3 yrs of age to travel far away to school everyday. But then I realized that if you don't get into the kinder of a good primary school, it's so hard to get a seat then.

I have phoned St Paul convent in fact. But they claimed that they won't accept any application as they don't have enough seats even for their own kindergarten's students.

My reservation letter from St Clare's stated that the reservation will be removed once my kid's name is on the govt computer list for the draw.

Most of the private primary school have this policy when you accept their place, except St Paul Convent. That's why I absolutely agree that SPC is really a "dream school"... it is really too good to be true. A secured P1 place is hold while there's still a chance for the lucky draw.

St. Paul Convent doesn't distribute any application from. I could only write an application letter with my daughter's information. That's why I said the chance is very slim.

As SPC allows their K3 students to join the govt's lucky draw, I hope when some of their students get in other famous primary school like Mary Mount or St Stephen Girls and give up their places in SPC, there will be a 'miracle' happened on my daughter.
