今 日 為 大 家 介 紹 的 四 間 私 小 ， 皆 屬 「 中 小 一 條 龍 」 ， 分 別 是 弘 立 書 院 、 馬 理 信 紀 念 學 校 、 神 召 第 一 小 學 暨 幼 稚 園 及 保 良 局 蔡 繼 有 學 校 ， 他 們 的 特 色 是 學 生 毋 須 受 升 中 壓 力 ， 家 長 也 可 免 卻 為 子 女 升 中 問 題 擔 心 ， 孩 子 從 小 就 在 愉 快 及 輕 鬆 的 環 境 學 習 。

想請教, 將來如打算升讀本地大學 (HKU, UST...), 讀IB課程如何銜接.....我不太明白....請指教?

又, 弘立書院同一般國際學校有甚麼分別? 都要買債券或付"建校費"的....

The International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) is a nonprofit educational foundation with headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. It offers three coordinated programs of study to approved international schools around the world:-

1. The Primary Years Program for students in Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 5.

2. The Middle Years Program for students in Grades 6-10 .

3. The Diploma Program for students in Grades 11-12 .

All three programs have a similar pedagogical base and are learner-centered and inquiry-based. The aim of each program is to contribute to the development of well-rounded, reflective, and compassionate young adults.

The IB Diploma program is a challenging university-preparatory course for the final two years of high school. It was developed over 30 years ago by international educators to provide an acceptable university entrance qualification for mobile students in international schools throughout the world. In recent years the IB has also experienced rapid growth in public and independent schools in the U.S.A., Canada, and elsewhere. There are now over 1,100 IB Diploma schools in half the countries of the world.

The IB Diploma program is one of the most comprehensive, challenging, and intellectually stimulating courses of study offered in the world. The program provides a balanced educational experience with a global perspective and is designed for committed, academically capable students.

According to the IBO website, the approved IBO schools in Hong Kong are :-

Chinese International School DIPLOMA
Chinese International School (CIS) MIDDLE
French International School DIPLOMA
Kingston International School PRIMARY
Li Po Chun United World College DIPLOMA
Sha Tin College DIPLOMA
Yew Chung International School DIPLOMA


IB的教育哲學是Education for Life（終生的教育），通過綜合的平衡的學科及富有挑戰性的評估，國際文憑組織旨在幫助學校努力發展青年人的個人才智，教會他們把教室裏學到的知識與外部世界相結合。除了嚴格的知識及高標準的學業要求，特別强調培養理想的具有國際意識及負責感的公民。

最終，IB學生應成爲批判的、有同情心的思想家；終身的學習者；熟悉當地及世界事務的參加者；分享各民族生存在一個世界上，意識到只有尊重各種文化和不同態度，才能使我們的生活豐富多彩。


以下是有關Diploma 課程的一些資料:

課程體系
所有IB文憑項目學生必須在規定的六個學科組中每組選一門課程進行學習，其中至少三門是高等級。每門分數的最高分數爲7分，加上拓展論文與知識論文的3分獎勵分數，滿分爲45分。這六個學科組是：

第一組：語言A1與世界文學
第二組：語言B（母語以外的現代語）
第三組：個人與社會學（歷史、地理、經濟學、哲學、心理學等）
第四組：實驗科學（物理、化學、生物、設計、環境系統等）
第五組：數學（數學高等級、高等數學標準等級、數學研究、數學法）
第六組：藝術與選修（美術設計、音樂、戲劇藝術等，或第三種現代語，或從第三組、第四組中再選一科，或高等數學標準等級） 想獲取IB文憑的學生還必須學習TOK（Theory of Knowledge--知識理論）和EE（Extend Essay--拓展論文），幷有合格的CAS活動 (Creativity, Action and Service -- 創造、行動與服務）。

在北美、歐洲，有許多著名的大學樂于接收IB學生，有一些大學還爲優秀IB畢業生提供獎勵學分、越級的鼓勵入學政策。全球有分布在近百個國家的一千余所大學與國際文憑組織（IBO）有穩定的協約關係，確保這些大學承認IB文憑。

IB課程項目正以其領先的教育思想和獨特的課程結構，日漸引起世人的矚目。它的思想和實踐也開始超越"國際學校"的範圍，步入世界各地一些富有創新意識和兼容精神的普通高級中學。至1999年，IB文憑成員校的數目已經由1995年的592所，發展到854所，現在還在保持持續發展的勢頭。

麻省理工學院對IB國際文憑高等級考試成績優秀者實行獎勵學分制。IB數學高等級考試成績6至7分相當于微積分I級（12學分）。IB物理考試成績爲6-7分者相當于物理I級（12學分）。IB化學考試成績7分者相當于化學I級（12學分）。IB生物考試成績爲6-7分者相當于生物基礎（12學分）。任何一門IB人文科學考試成績在6-7分者將獲得總選修課的9學分。

英國劍橋大學招生部對IB國際文憑給予高度肯定，幷聲明所有的學科專業都對IB畢業生開放。但IB文憑持有者的總成績須達到36-40分。其中高等級考試成績在6-7分者才能保證實際錄取的可能性。有些學科的成績，尤其是理科高等級考試成績爲7分的入學申請者將優先考慮.

英國牛津大學歡迎持有IB國際文憑的入學申請者。入學條件是IB考試成績極有競爭性，通常要求成績在36分以上，幷且有一門以上的高等級考試成績達到6-7分。

耶魯大學對IB高等級考試獲得6-7分的學生給于兩項累計學分的獎勵（相當于兩門耶魯大學的課程學分）。學生可利用這些累計學分或提前畢業，或直接越級到大二年級學習。但對于IB標準等級考試成績無學分獎勵。學生也可利用自己IB高等級考試中所獲6-7分的成績加入耶魯一些更高級課程的學分中。

普林斯頓大學承認IB國際文憑，幷以IB畢業生的考試成績作爲越級插班的唯一參考值。通常各科高等級考試成績6-7分者可准許越級插班。

All HK Universities accept IB Diploma as the Bachelor Degree entrance requirement. While HKU has specific requirements.

grade 4 or better in the Higher Level English Language (B Syllabus); or
grade 5 or better in the Subsidiary Level English Language (B Syllabus); or
grade 4 or better in the Higher or Subsidiary Level English Language (A1 or A2 Syllabus).

However, IB Diploma is not so well recognized by the univeristies in mainland China.

Thank you very much for your brief explain of the IB. But I know that right now CKY(蔡繼有)was not sure in use of IB as well, but HKUGA was.

According to the Head Mistress of HKUGA Primary School, they only plan to implement IB for F.4 & F.5.  Not in primary school.

我曾經去過維多利亞小學簡介會，該校容校長說該校在兩年前巳採用IB課程，好像明年便可拿到認可資格。 另外新校舍於2007年啟用後有一條龍直升中學，中學也是採用IB課程。

Will HK students perform well in the IB Diploma exam?
Or, on the contrary, will HK students be underprivileged in the IB Diploma exam for whatever reasons?
It is pointless if HK students take the IB dipoma course but in the end only get poor results.

Yew Chung International School in the year of 2003-04 recorded 32 students sitting the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program exam -- the highest number of students enrolled on the program since it opened three years ago. The highest mark gained was 41 out of 45 and the average points obtained by those who passed the diploma was 34 this year while the average grade among them was 5.49.   

Four of the graduates scored 40 marks or above in the demanding but widely recognized diploma program. All but one student got admissions offers from universities and colleges overseas as well as in Hong Kong. These included the renowned Imperial College, London School of Economics, University College London, University of Warwick, University of British Columbia, and locally the University of Hong Kong, Chinese University and University of Science and Technology.
