RC - Chinese Pathway 2

Wanna ask the experienced ESF parents, my son is a new joiner in RC's year 2 and he's assigned to path 2 Chinese class, I wanna ask:

1) does anyone have good idea for helping kids' Chinese proficiency? I try to stay away from taking tuition class and thinking some kind of mandarin speaking activities, any recommendations?

2) if he continues in path 2 all the way (touchwood), can he take bilingual diploma?

3) I heard, not sure if it's true, only 1% of the students will be assigned to path 3 in each year group?

Two classes for each pathway roughly. As a year 8's parent, I would say it's not a bad idea to stay in pathway 2 and Chinese B in secondary.

Chinese A is a really difficult subject and the students should make tons of effort to get a better score.

My friends shared that their kids watched 大陸TV series like 三國 in order to  improve the knowledge of mandarin, vocabulary, culture and history.  It works.

Do we choose Chinese A or B by ourselves? Or school will assign for our kids? If Chinese b is selected, is it still a bilingual diploma?

The streaming is assessed by teacher. Eng A + Chi A is one option to lead to bilingual diploma.
