會否讓年尾出世的孩子多讀一年高班?

我的女兒於10月出世, 未夠三歲就讀幼兒班, 她明顯不比班中於年頭出世的孩子成熟. 明理, 有人勸我比女兒多讀一年高班, 否則上到小學時佢會追唔上, 我亦要跟得好辛苦.(我只會幫個女報讀津校)

請各位有經驗的媽媽比D意見, 謝謝!

Perfectly agree and support it.  It is in fact not uncommon nowadays.  It will be better for both the kid and parents.  But you have to face the reality that your child is one year older than the youngest one in the same class.  Personally, I don't think that's a big deal.  Just bring to your attention on this.  Moreover, you have to repeat in or before K2.  The Government does not allow kids to have second attempt in Primary One allotment.

我覺得要睇番你個小朋友係咪追得上成績bor。如果小朋友d成績係ok,又可以明白同理解老師所講既野,照升班都無咩所謂姐,因為如果佢明白課程內容,又因年齡問題要佢留多一年,咁佢會好悶ka ma,唔知會唔會唔中意返學tim bor!!!況且又唔係細好多ja ma,我個仔仔8月出生,當然唔係好成熟、明理,但依d可以慢慢教law,反而係你自己有無咁既時間可以陪佢,教佢,如果可以既話,不妨照升班 : !!!!!我就覺得無留多一年既需要!!!!!!!

你的囡囡咩年出生呀？是否今年考小學呢？我個囡是今年１９９９年１１月尾出生的，都有你的煩惱呀！其實我都有想過如果考小一學校唔理想我都想比佢讀多一年ｋ３，不過你要知道，小一統一派位的小朋友一生只接受一次申請，如果你今年有到教育處取form去考自行分配, 如果考不到就會在6月統一大抽獎. 如果又派得唔好, 都冇得出年再申請o架!

I let my daughter repeat K1 last year. Actually, I wanted to repeat N1, but teacher reminded me that the fees are  more in N1 and it's better to repeat in K1.  I let her repeat cos I think it's better to be big girl than small girl in class.  Because many private schools prefer not to admit small girls younger than 6 years (on sept 1, P1).  Moreover, if your girl is as smart as children 1 year older than her, but physically, she must also compete with the children during P1 when many activities may involve physcial competence as well.  You may deprive her the opportunity to join some atheletic teams just because she is shorter or physically not fit.  
Being older, my kid does not mind because she likes to be a "big sister" rather than a "baby sister".  She helps the young children.

我個囡考到一間直資小學了, 很開心!!

其實我個囡都很靜, 沒有其他大仔大女醒目, 不過在K2時, 我給她多些課外活動, 情況有了明顯的改善呀, 自信心強了, 現在和其他大仔大女分別都不太大, 而且又考到一間心儀學校. 咪比佢讀o羅!

我囡囡都係十月尾出世，不過佢表現唔似係細女，我都好擔心考小一時競爭大，唯有比心機及時間教佢，到時可以考到心儀小學。

My son is born on November, and I let him repeat K.1, and my daughter is born in December, but I do not let her repeat.
It seems that for K.1 and K.2, bigger kids really have advantages, however, I think my daughter really does quite well in K.3. The differences for bigger and smaller kids tend to grow narrower as time goes.

I've heard that some parents have let their child repeat k.2 to apply for Christ Church Kindergarten since DGJS and other famous schools most prefer students from Christ Church due to their better English standard.

我同意年頭同年尾既小朋友相差好遠，因為我囡囡都係細女，回想教佢寫字時，真係想死。
但我唔讚成要小朋友重讀k3以解決問題，因為會令小朋友年紀小小就自尊心受傷，你諗吓：同學仔個個畢業，人人升小學，唯有自己留下，雖然做大亞哥大家姐，但又唔識Ｄ同學仔，讀多一年又要升小一，又要重新識應環境，對小朋友來說實在太辛苦了。
比我重頭再來，我唔會比囡囡太早入學（可以節省好多醫藥費，又唔洗教得禁辛苦），但已不可回頭，我會情願她重讀小一，但當然要視乎佢小一係唔係真係好唔得啦。

不過要多考慮一點，今年99年出生派位少3000人，但00出生派位多3000人，再過一年出生率又少番，所以邊年出世也是機會大唔大的關鍵，好好慎重考慮。

No, I won't. Though my son was born in mid-December, his learning and comprehension ability is as good as older children and sometimes even better, according to remarks of his K2 and K3 teachers. His handwriting is also good and I don't have to spend much time teaching him how to write chinese characters.  But he is physically not as strong as the older (and bigger) boys and not as mature.  His teachers say he is very much a baby.  But I prefer to let him go ahead and study P.1 next year.  If he has to repeat (or change school) , he can do it in primary school rather than kindergarten.

如果父母資源許可，當然是REPEAT幼稚園是最適合，小朋友在這個階段是沒有壓力而讀書，到小學時已經是同學間互相競爭開始的時候。上年我跟幼稚園老師談論REPEAT KI OR K3是較適合小朋友，老師意見是K1是最理想，小朋友沒有留級的概念，當你REPEAT K1 後，小朋友已經是由細仔變為大仔，那麼小朋友在整個學習階段都是處於心智較為成熟的階段去學習，對小朋友學習也很有幫助。我都覺得很有理，所以我把小朋友安排在K1時REPEAT。

安排小朋友遲一年入讀幼稚園也是一個方法, 始終小朋友心智大一點,在學習上都會好D.

如果報讀普通津校，細女都唔係問題，我囡今年P.2，係班中細女，12月尾出世，佢仲有一個同日出世

It depends on the ability of your child and whether the primary school is suitable for her/him.

My daughter was born on 28 December. Her response to teacher was not as fast as the older children when in K1 and K2. The situation was improved until in K3. There was a smooth transition from kindergarten to primary school. She is now studying in P.3. She has no problem in her learning, as well as extra curricular activities.

You(Parents) should be the one most understanding of your child. There is no absolute answer to your question. You have to make your decision/mistake.

我側認為最緊要系是睇返個小朋友仔個人資質, 如果資質好細個人都會讀得輕鬆過他人. 唔一定系細仔會讀得辛苦!
