I've arrived in HK about 1 week ago and have been desperately looking for a school for my 3 year old.  
We're based in Taiwai and we have been offered a place at Wellborn Ma on Shan and another local kinder near home.  I am quite impressed with the environment and the teachers (tho we only met briefly....), when we went to the interview today. I've also heard lots of bad comments about this school as well.

The fees for Wellborn is slightly on the high side 2300 for 12 months, tho they have a very long school term.  The teacher has also mentioned that they have homework everyday tho I'm not sure how it compares to other schools......

Any other suggestions everyone?

If you dont mind to pay more for international class, I suggest u to try joyful world in fotan. It's a new kg, second campus for this group. There is another 1 in tsuen wan. My friend's daughter studied in tsuen wan campus before. Comment not bad.

Welborn..... It admit all kids at the age of 2 for pn. That means place is always available. If tuition for Welborn is $23xx, it's local class only.

I have been to the school you mentioned in Fotan as well, unfortunately their K1 classes are not available until Sept 2013 and my son should be in K1 now.  It's such a shame, as both me and my husband quite liked that school.

I suggest u to take the kg near ur home and try applying others in Shatin for K2. If you dont mind travelling to Kowloon Tong, you may try St. Nicholas. My friend's son just transferred to St. Nicholas in December.

I have been to st Nicholas and filled in an application form. unfortunately I still haven't heard from them yet.

We have rejected the offer from the local kinder near home as both of us didn't like their attitude very much.  

I now have an interview tmr for Creative Shatin campus and the Kowloon tong campus on Friday.  I'm actually nearer to Kowloon tong (1 stop away) tho I need to see whether they can justify the difference in the fees.  It's $720 vs $3800 per month!

York and 啟思小學附屬幼稚園。
My son is currently studying in York International. I think it is good.
For 啟思小學附屬幼稚園，it's not the same creative kindergarten as the one in Shatin.
My friend's daughter was transferren from a kg in MOS in December when she was in K1. She is now in K3 already.

Thx for your advice.  I'm actually not too sure which Creative I've applied to. I walked passed it on our way back to the station and thought I could give it a try. (We were on our way to St Nicholas/York/Kingston)

I found the Creative in Shatin very different to what my son is used to, I'm sure he will struggle with the structure. The teachers has also picked up the fact that his English seems to be stronger and emphasised that they're Chinese based.

The creative I mentioned is not the one u applied. You can try! The one i mentioned is in Oxford Road.

Yes, the creative u applied, are under the same group. Both emphasis education in the kids mother tongue. The one in Kowloon Tong just withdrew from the voucher scheme this academic year. I m not sure if there is any change in the syllabus.
