St Mary and Good Hope

How to choose these two school? Pls advise.

I will opt St Mary, as both school has the same way of teaching:Traditional, so I think there will be no difference between them and you can save $$$ for St Mary.

Since both schools have secondary school connections, I think you need to consider their secondary counterparts too.

Good Hopers are more active.  They have a pretty good system to teach English too.  The downside is the location and the school fees.

St Mary's is very traditional.  It is true that their secondary school can produce very top students, but the "average" students in SMCC are indeed very "average", cuz the school tends to focus on the best and the brightest, and will not do much to help the "average" majority.

But I know quite a number of kids transfer from Good Hope to SMCS in the last few years.

讀德望係真唔平。直資上中學要交足十三年學費。呢個亦係令一部份女仔會轉去其他 津貼/官校的其中一個原因 !

but I think it's just because the District in St. Mary's is not very good. There's not so many Band 1 schools in that area.

As these 2 girls school are similar, I will choose St. Mary as I don't need to pay any school fee. Instead I will spend the money for some ECAs that my girl is interested in.

唔係麻, 九龍區最好九龍城網, 第二好就係油尖旺, 去唔到Band 1係因為佢唔係band 1, 唔關個網事.

Then Holy Angels Canossian School should be chosen, instead of St. Mary Primary, because all students of Holy Angels Canossian School can get into St Mary's Canossian College.

csl123, may i ask where you get the info from? i would like to take a look at other school as  well. i know that mingpao published 2002 result before but how about the 2004 result? i couldn't find in mingpao site.

The information is quoted from 明報05/06 升中選校全攻咯(HK$40). It lists out 84 secondary schools with ?A/student and 59 schools with students of 6A or above. Which school do you want to know?

Some schools like DGS, Holy Family, Heen Yunn are not on the Ming pao booklet.
