My daughter is studying Primary 2. I don't know why she cannot handle her homework. I talked with her teacher but still can't help her. Does anyone can share your experience to me how to help her to concentrate to study?

I think you have to guide her how to manage and finish her work.  I also helped my girl to handle her homework in P.1 and 2, and gradually she can handle it all by herself starting P.3.  At P.3, I only check her work occasionally and help her revise before exams.  But still it is difficult to force her to concentrate on study all the time, sometimes still need to remind her to finish her work.

Pls give your daughter some time to grow.  P.2 kids are only 7 years old.

Please share your experience to me. I always lost of control if my daughter haven't finished her works.
I will blame myself after I shouted to her but I am  confusing on the methods how to teach children. Actually I want her to have a happy child life but I also scare if she don't work hard, she can't reach the level of P.3 or above. What can I do?

Agree with you, usually mom is very anxious about the kids' work, and the kids are too small and won't feel too bad if they miss homework or get low marks.  I don't have any magic formula, I will also be angry when seeing my girl's silly mistakes in exams, or missing homeworks etc.  I explain to her the consequence of not doing well, and also encourage her to do better with some small presents.  I do this repeatedly and continuously, always reminding her to check everything.  I also want to know if there is any better way.

I can see that my girl can focus better in P.3, especially if borrow some books which she is interested for her to read.  So maybe you can try to see what your daughter is interested and train on her concentration.

As per your name, you have 2 girls, right?  I have 2 girls too.  Do you have problems with the elder one or younger one?

Dear 2girl,
I have a son has the same problem. He can't concentrate even in the exam. I always shouted at him when he doesn't want to studies. He told me he tried his best when i think he's not.

At last, I find that all kids like encouragement just like us. Don't be so mean, praise your daughter more when she has a little, little, very little improvement. YOu may see the changes.and you two may happier.

I'm trying my best to control myself. I am reading a book named 如何在家中提升子女的學習能力? I'm not fully agreed with it. It said: 1) Don't shout to kids (I don't want but sometimes lose control), 2) Don't look at TV while dinner time, 3) Let your kids to practice same excercise  until they fully handle and main point but hard point 4) Don't let them sleep late.
Today I will start to try these skills. I hope I will have goods news to tell you later.

Re the points you quoted from the book, I kind of agreed with it.  I have done pt 2 & 4, pt 1 is sometimes inevitable as everyone has temper, and for pt 3, I do ask my girl to practise more reading comprehensions (different pcs, not the same exercise) as she is weak in it, seems that she has improved a bit.

So hope you can try to carry these out and have good results.
