Recommending a Math book written in English

Dear all:

If you guys are looking for some math exercises that do not ask your children to do questions repeatedly, try finding "Family Math" by Jean Kerr Stenmark, Virginia Thompson and Ruth Cossey.

This book is printed by the University of California, Berkeley, with the support of the US Department of Education. It's aiming at elementary school kids who want to learn math graphically/visually/logically.  The book presents questions in various ways and try to make the children THINK instead of just doing the math.

See if you guys can find this book from the library. It's definitely a good and interesting book.

Hi!

I don't think this book would be sold in regular bookstore.  I tried searching at the HKU library catelogue for you, they have a copy of it (and even the Chinese translation).  Since you are free to photocopy the book for personal purpose, you may want to check it out there.

What is the grade level of your child?  Do you want to PM me your e-mail address and have me scanned some pages for your viewing before going to the library?

I have checked out this book from the local library before. But I think it was the Chinese version. The english version can be purchased from amazon.com
