有冇人買左DWE(Disney World English)覺得冇用?

我收到DWE(Disney World Englis)的小冊子, 入面講到d小朋友用左DWE教材後d英文好好, 攪到我有少少心動.

佢的小冊子就梗係著眼講成功的例子啦, 咁我想問下有冇家長買左DWE覺得唔好, 覺得冇用架? 大家對DWE有乜評價?

p.s.呢個toipc唔關小學事, 不過我搵唔到第二個有關的forum, 而且我諗可能買左DWE的家長好可能會在這個forum, 所以post在這兒.

My daughter watched its VCDs and its story books since 18months old till now (going to 5 this Nov). these materials really help my daughter to establish foundation and interests in English when she proceeds. However, if you decide to buy, you need to accompany your kid to go through them, don't just leave them alone  or it is of little value...

Yes. It's useful.

But I have joined some more English course to strengthen my daugther English ability as well and got a very significant result. She is in K3 now and can understand her teacher (a British) very well. She
can speak quite a good English now and her level
is much higher than her classmate!!

highly recommended. As CDMa said, you need to go throught together with your kids.
2 friends of mine failed to do this resulted in leaving the whole new set inside the store room. Their kids did not feel interest about it.

one thing! the sales person is poor, the following up is poor, never call! . Just happened we met at IKEA, she then asked ... bla bla bla.

But, if you committe spending an hour a day, at least, you will find it is rewarding.

Using this set of tools, your kid will find English interesting comparing a friend of mine, his P.1 kid does not understand much English and my friend is considering English tuition for the kid. So poor! :cry:

My 2.5 yr old girl talk to me and his brother in English, and she understand English more than Chinese.
What I want to say is that you have to start early putting your kid in an English environment through visual and audio aids, (some other cheaper ones are still useful but the DWE is recommended due to its varieties in the media).

Hope you can start early.

買之前最緊要以下幾點 :
1. 小朋友細過三 - 四歲, 太大過會抗拒重覆睇
2. 父母要有時間陪佢睇或 佢睇完後幫佢溫習,
效果會事半功倍
3. 當然要有錢供

我自己都有買迪士尼美語世界比我個囡囡,
佢當時大概一歲, 非常投入睇聽 VCD & CD.
睇書都 OK, 但轆咭機, 玩左幾次就唔大興趣

最弊 我兩公婆都日頭番工到 8-9點,
只有夜晚或者放假先同佢一齊睇,
效果都 OK.

個囡囡讀 K1 都有睇, K2 就開始喜歡睇第二的 VCD
如迪士尼的卡通片 (英文 channel), 當然唔超過一半聽明,
但個邊句子會明

宜家個仔亦係六個月到到開始睇, 效果比囡囡更好.
我覺得佢學野真係快d, 有d歌佢未係好識唱, 不過已經可以哼刑出黎, 同埋邊隻歌係做d咩動作佢都已經識做啦

特別食飯時坐唔 定既, 一開VCD 就會 calm down.

But it is so expensive !!!
It will give you a lot of pressure to fully utilize it and revise with your kids daily, then of course, you get goods results with whatever study kits you use.  I still think the investment in the Disney kit is not necessary.  

My daughter is reading English novel at P.1, watch English programmes on TV without subtitle, with a good English vocabury, loves English writing, and revises English dictation for 10 minutes weekly and scores 100 marks.  We do not buy this expensive kit but instead she learns by :-

1. watching English programme on TV;
2. takes a few month of phonic lesson to master English reading;
3. read English books., expecially audio books.
4. speak English with our domestic helper at home.

I think with the commitment of parents, any few hunderd dollars English kits are as good.  Have you try the Shenzhen Disney kits on sale in the book city at about $100 only ? The contents are suitable for young kits too.  Otherwise, the Longman's GOGO kit is very good too.  Lots of good choices for learning English now a day.

好讚成你既意見呀! 最好1歲或之前就買, 買好就可以即刻開始 (唔使話驚佢唔識, 諗住遲D先睇), 因小朋友看到D卡通同聽到D歌, 就會眼定定架啦, 每天都重覆地給他看 (由Play  Alone) 開始, 最好跟住VCD加埋D玩具一齊同佢玩, 好快入惱架啦.

我仔仔2歲已經識晒26個字母, 依家佢地英文底都幾好格, 讀九龍塘某間有名的英文幼稚園, 科科英文都拿A, 所有老師 (包括外藉老師)都話佢比其它小朋友D英語好好多格.

不過自上年起 (4歲半)左右啦, 佢已經唔願睇, 要逼及規定先肯睇一次半次, 我都明既, 都睇左成三年, 悶都悶死啦, 邊有心機睇, 而且佢仲要上其它課外活動.  唔可能再好似細時咁成日留係屋企, 睇卡通片啦~
