Most parents would scare this school's standard and attitude toward their studends in terms of academics. They afraid their son cannot stand or  tough to handle such kind of pressure. English advanced two levels, math advanced one level..etc  If someone has told you that you got a chance to enter in coming year, would you take it or let it go? Assuming your kids are average in all ability, good only in english.

Why are you so sure about "most parents"?  Are they all diagnosed as having "school phobia"?

Why not?  If your kid can handle both English and Maths OK plus he could tolerate traditional education methodology, I think you should let your kid try.

SJP is not as "scary" as most parents think.

is your kid studying at St.Jo? heard from my friend's friend that they put huge pressure on both parents and students to meet their average standards which mostly at least 90 marks. Is that right? So my friend's friend have made a lot of works after school to make sure his kid keep in pace with the school requirements. " At least 8 out of 10, of my friend refuse to consider this school. So i want your opinion, but anyway thanks a lot. I will keep it on mind.

"If your kid can handle both english and maths OK"? What do you mean OK? pass? then how do i know a K2 student can or cannot tolerate traditional education methodoly? My kid study kumon english, chinese and math in normal level, do you think is that ok?

My kid is studying P.1 there and he can handle all the work by himself without any private tutor.  I just checked his homework after he finished and did the revision with him 1 day before the test/exam.

I don't know if there is huge pressure on both parents and students but my son once told me that below 90% will be deemed as fail.

我個仔今年P1，我覺得功課量不算多，和其他學校的小一功課量差不多，由於返半天，早上還可以參加興趣班、閱讀和玩。

小一第一次家長會時校長已再三強調學校非常傳統，覺得不合適的請考慮其他學校。當時我也覺得校長有點“寸”，但我想她的意思是選了就要接受他們的做法，和他們配合。

仔仔很喜歡ST. JOE，我曾不只一次問他喜歡小學還是幼稚園，他都總説是小學，他説因為較多東西學，所以他並不覺得讀小學辛苦。仔仔性格比較靜和受教，英文和數學都較好，他做數學的英文文字題比中文文字題做得好，所以ST. JOE相當適合他。

仔仔説班內的同學上課時一般都很聽話，就只有三個同學很不合作，常常談話，甚至出位，他們會被老師責罵和懲罰，懲罰包括罰企、無小息（要留在班房內罰抄）或在小息時到操場的長凳罰坐，可以吃東西和喝水，但不可以玩。至於乖的同學會得到老師的讚賞和獎勵，阿仔基本上覺得老師賞罰分明，所以很聽老師的話，也很喜歡老師。

其實，我覺得學校的做法和我們讀書時比較已有進步，他們懲罰的方法都不敢太過份，只是現在的家長都很保護子女，很難接受子女被罰，甚至不能接受子女在一所會罰學生或責罵學生的學校內讀書。我覺得如果你認為這套方法不會教好你個仔，就真的不要報這間學校。
