我表妹畫想比拒個仔考這個試,但只是中二,適合嗎? 有無用?謝

個試通常係用作，入大學或出國入大學指標，有好多大學收生標淮最少達六分或以上先收，最高九分，如果你表妹個仔英文程度去到中六、七可以一試，不過程度去到中六、七都唔考得住，因為個試要滿十六歲先考得，或者可以考劍橋CAE，CPE，呢二個試就無年齡限制，當中CPE程度比IELTS更深，你可作參考。

Some graduate schools also demand request individual elements not less than certain level on top of overall grade.

Like LSE, overall grade 7 minimum and individual element at least 7. In HKUST, certain faculties request overall grade 6 minimum and individual element at least 5.5.

建議中五升中六既暑假考, 因為報外國既大學係早一年報定, 而成績係有效兩年既.

唔好客氣，因為先前個女想考IELTS，所以搜尋個有關資料，
又係因為未滿十六歲所以唔考得，後來考左劍橋FCE，計劃來繄六月考CPE，
希望到時可以考到合格就已經滿足。

朋友仔仔，考完AL後，亦考了IELTS, 評語是淺過AL, 成績非常理想，入了港大。

留意IELTS成績有效期只有兩年，考卷題目關於Academic writing, 通常用作海外學士/本地碩士的入學要求，一般最低要求是6.5分。

可以瀏覽www.ielts.org, 有test paper, 了解一下IELTS的程度。

I guess your friend's son got in HKU based on HKALE instead of IELTS. Am I correct?

以前唔知，不過面對新高中，HKU講明通過JUPAS只睇文憑試成績，而所謂「參考」，其實影響唔大。

城大：新學制下, 只接受香港中學文憑試的英國語文科成績用於符合大學的基本入學要求。
浸大：大學現正研究考慮英語科目未能達到最低入學要求(第三級)，是否以GCE O/AS/A Level,TOEFL 或IELTS 等成績取代的安排。有關詳情落實後將儘快公布。
嶺大：聯招申請只考慮中學文憑英國語文科成績，其他公開英語及公開考試成績只作參考。
中大：新學制下，聯招申請一般只考慮香港中學文憑考試成績，其他公開英語考試或其他公開考試成績只作參考，不能替代。
教院：聯招申請主要考慮中學文憑之英語成績，其他公開英語考試成績只作參考。
理大：原則上JUPAS 考生只會獲考慮HKDSE 成績。
科大：其他公開考試成績只可作為額外的輔助資料作參考，不能替代中學文憑試的英文成績，亦不會用作計分用途。
港大：聯招申請只考慮香港中學文憑考試成績，其他公開英語考試成績只作參考。
公大：大學只考慮中學文憑試英語的成績，其他公開英語考試成績只作參考。

That's exactly what I know.
My friens's son study IB and got 8 IELTS. He got offer from HKUST n CUHK, based on PG, but university appreciated his excellent IELTS result.

A common term for IBDP, it means the predicted grade that the IB student may score in the coming IBDP exam. Most university recognised the PG of IB students and with or without interview, the university will grant conditional or unconditional offers before the exam.

沒錯。以上是大學的整體政策，但個別學系的收生或會加入其他資歷作為收生準則。例如部份商科會公開指明IELTS需達某級數。個別語言學科，雖沒有言明，我亦不能言明，但若作個別查詢，其實都會以這些資歷作為一個較強的參考。

據朋友仔仔所說，現時，如果UE/IELTS，抵過C/6.5，入學後，會建議上較多英語課程，大學希望提高學生英語水平。

據了解，334學制下，Year 1入大學，語文要上幾多小時，就是根據學生的公開試的成績，按其DSE/IELTS(包括細分)的成績而定。

大學好多勁人，語文公開試可以考的，全部都考晒。想讀大學輕鬆些，考好英語啦!

IELTS, is easier than the former HKAL, but a bit more difficult than HKDSE. It is recommended to let students take the test in S4-S5. There are many secondary schools provide own courses for their students now.
