Thanks for sharing.

I have one question:
How come the pm school have space for the P5 and P6 students to be full day students when they share the campus with the am school?

I have answered this on the primary section forum quite a while before.

If you read carefully, it said on the magazine for pm section there are 5 classes per grade.  For am section, they mentioned there are 3-4 classes per grade.

There are total regular 30 classrooms where pm section use 5 classes x 6 grade.  Since P5 and P6 occupied 10 classrooms for whole day, only the remaining 20 classrooms are available for am section.  So, there are 4 grades with 3 classes and 2 grades with 4 classes.

So the am students will have to the share the facilities with the senior pm students in the morning..... So by calculation, there will be less seats for the am students? And this implies that the competition for the KG girls to am school will be high if they aim for am rather than pm (which is not guaranteed).

Do you know if the am school will still accept the student if an offer has been made by the pm school (since the two schools are considered separate ones)?

Sorry this post is full of questions

==>Logically yes.  But bare in mind am section is private so its capacity per class is higher than pm section which is limited by EDB.  For the years where am section will have 4 classes, the total seats should be about the same as 5 classes of pm.

And this implies that the competition for the KG girls to am school will be high if they aim for am rather than pm (which is not guaranteed).
==> Your statement is based on an assumption where all students will apply to am section?  But pm section is by allocation so it will have even less seats available for door-knocking so its competition can be even higher?  It all depends on how you look at things.  I would suggest you to decide the one you like the most first rather than making a choice because of the chance of being admitted.

Do you know if the am school will still accept the student if an offer has been made by the pm school (since the two schools are considered separate ones)?
==> As of last year, there are a number of students who got offers from both sections.  I dunno what's the handling for the coming years however.  The am section have the right to decide  how they would handle such situation.

Thanks for your reply.

I have always aimed for the primary am section for my girl. If the application and admission of the am section is known before the first stage of central application, then we would not apply for the pm section. Applying for the pm section is a backup in case we don't get an offer from the am section.

Anyway, we still have 2 years to go. Won't worry too much at this stage.

Good luck to your elder daughter's application next year.

I would agree it is too early to worry of that.

Before my daughter study in this kindergarten, I would think having one-dragon is one of the most important factors.  After two years, I realize there are more important things which would supersede it.  Nevertheless, they still have great chance to be studying together.

There are many things that I can't describe with words.  I would wish you will have the same feeling as I do after your daughter study here.  Wish you and your family all the best!

Mathematically, the year your daughter will enter private section P1 they will have 160 seats max capacity, while normally around 60-80 heading to pm section (gov't aided) these days.  Plus a minimum 30-40 girls will head to other famous gov't aided or private schools.  I can't see what you need to worry.  Good luck!
