both are new schools, any comments? Since we don't have any priorities for getting into other international schools, these new schools would be our options. Any advice?
My understanding is that Stamford got 300+ students for the upcoming new year. This is very impressive for a new school (of course location matters). This at least will make the school financially sound and put more resources in education and facilities.
Very well said. Sustainability is my biggest concern for new schools. Just that I heard some students are charged 120k for debenture and some are charged 500k if they do not meet the school's standards. Such practices are a bit questionable.
The debenture is very common. 120k is one-time levy and 500k is debenture. You can also chose annual levy of 30k. We applied quite late but still got the levy option - so really depends on the performance which is very fair from my perspective. Every international school has levy or debenture. This is common practice for them for fund the investment and operation.
By the end of the day, this is a new school and no one can say anything for sure. Cognita group in general is not particularly strong but the Stamford campus in Singapore did pretty well; the school is quite full. So let's hope for the best.
It is not becos of the location, it's becos they accept almost all students whoever applied. You will see lots of locals and mainlanders, end of the day, it becomes like a local school.
