Apply P1 of DGJS and St Paul Co-ed again next year???????

My girl is borned in Nov 2000 and not successful in getting a place in DGJS or Co-ed.  Any sharing of experience on success rate for application for P1 again in the following year when a girl is studying P1 in another school (ie repeating a year).

My case is similar and my girl is a "small" girl too.  I may try 1 or 2 our dream primary school(s) next year.  But it really depends on her performance in the coming P1 year and her own preference.  Please share.

I doubt very much about the chance of success as from the viewpoint of these elite schools, they have already assessed the kids before and they may have no interest in amending their decisions.  

I know some parents may instead arrange their kids to repeat K3.  However, in both cases, the primary school is well aware of the 'repeating' fact when you presented the latest school reports.

Although not directly relevant, I know a boy who is currently studying P1 in another school who made a second attempt at DBSPD this year and has been admitted!

I think you can apply P2 if your daughter is studying P1 and her results are good.  I do not think these elite schools prefer kids to repeat K3 which is a waste of time, and that does not fit their expectation that thier students should excel in all they do.  Repeating K3 or P1 next year does not seem to be a good move.

In order to achieve good results in the entry exam, I guess the applicant has to attain at least P4 level in English for DGJS or P2 English for SPCC, and P2 in Chinese for both schools.  The teaching is very intensive in both schools.

I heard that DGJS girls learnt the Oxford Advanced Grammer and are qualified for HKCEE examination by the time they graduated.  Maybe Gogochurch meant the P4 English standard of local Chinese schools ?

Any child who is interested can apply again next year as DGJS is a private school.

My son was born in November. He failed the admission to our dream school last year. He is now studying P1 in another school, and he succeeded this year to be admitted to his dream school. His performance was not that mature last year, but much better this year. The principal prefers more mature and independent students, and I think they usually welcome "big" kids. I would say the chance for your girl next year is high. But the problem is how to explain to my son why he needs to repeat P1.

I agree with Alexma that most of the principal prefers more mature and independent students and they usually welcome "big" kids.  The performance in the interview of my daughter this year was not that mature and  I expect that it must be better next year...  So ... I have the idea to try next year when she becomes more mature.
