子女已經讀緊小學的家長, 你認為小學教育最重要是什麼??

Good fundation for language?
Self confidence?
Self learning ability?
Social skills?
Explore own potential?

All seems important. Is DSS or private school going to provide all these while the government subsidized school cannot? I'm puzzled......
I'm going to choose the government subsidized one since my hubby wants the children to enjoy the 9 year fee education. For those experienced parents, could you give your comment on the "outcome" of the different school types. Please share your experience or your friend's experience. Are there any difference and how I could do to help my children to overcome the weaknesses of studying in the government school?

The most important things depend on your child's talent and ability.  Every school has its good point.  Learning is a long life competition.  
The child may develop his responsibility.  In the lower class, the parents can coach/teach them but, in the higher class, it all depends on the child's learning attitude.
Do you graduate from a famous school?  But now you are a professional!
Language is the foundation of learning.  If you have a good foundation of language, each subject would be upgraded.   In other words, you have a better understanding and presentation.

I think the most important thing in primary stage is the interest and self-motivation to learn.  Traditional teaching approach defeats this as teachers just feed in information and knowledge, ask students to memorize things and write model answers.  Activity and inquiry based approach will be more effective.  Different schools uses different ways of teaching.  You have to do some research for choosing the right school matching your kid.

I think the most important thing is how the parents coach their children, to develop their own interests, to become independent and to have interests to learn and read by themselves. School is only one of the facilities to help your child. In the primary stage, parents' influence would be the most important element.

我覺得最重要係令佢哋明白凡事無不勞而獲，一分耕耘一分收穫，用功才有進步，不要單羨慕別人叻，其實只要努力下苦功，個個都可以考第一。仲有凡事都要抱學習精神，要思考，不明就問，唔係人哋講咩就照單全收。
