Maryknoll 叩門!?

小女將於今年入讀小一(06-07)，在自行分配學位及大抽獎選了Maryknoll (My dream school)，當然first round 梗係無我個女份啦(得15分)，大抽獎的機會相信是極微的。所以我想試下叩門，但我看過一些家長分享中講及，那機會一樣很微的(連見都無得見)。是否真實呢？
還有，若果我有修女的推薦信，會否機會大些呢?

請各位提供一些意見!

修女都未必足夠, 起碼都要神父, 仲要係d出名而且大堂o既神父wor!

因為間學校都冇曬修女註囉,st. mary就得,因為學校有修女宿舍,有不同嘉諾撒小學d修女一齊住架. she ~~~細細聲唔好話比人知呀 嘻

我識有個朋友靠關係入了, 因為她認識的修女是現任校長的當年老師, 她不是出身名幼稚園, 成績一般, 但有關係加運氣....

叩門難唔難都其次,入到讀唔讀到? 讀到好辛苦又值唔值得? 雖然有人話因為都要參加大抽獎,所以程度巳下降,但呢點好難作實.

哈哈，按大家所言，如果叩Maryknoll的門，封信就可以收埋先啦！

CHUCHU,我都知道St.Mary有修女信機會會大些，因幫我寫信的修女曾經幫過2位小朋友， 而2位小朋友都可以入讀St.Mary。咁我是否應該轉叩St.Mary的門呢？

而我想多問一下大家，其實小朋友讀那一所幼稚園會否是小學校長考慮的其中之一呢？如是，咁Maryknoll多數收那些幼稚園的學生呢(我指是叩門)？

初小唔辛苦架 !

程度下降又未係，但家下好多街坊學校都好努力(尤其係d家長) 所以雖則仍然超級名校同普通學校係有差異，但唔同廿幾年前感大分別架啦 !

一d名不經傳的街坊小學全級最叻的學生，係程度上同超級名校ｄ叻學生其實真係相差無幾架 ! 分別就可能學習氣嘮！

扣門可試，但如係老校，又有宗教，你非舊生，非宗教人仕，就點排都會係呢兩類友好之後嘮，有另類專長另計　！

你係咪有小朋友係Marynoll讀呢?請問其實有無機會插小二班呢?因為要有人走都幾難,呢間學校咁出名,right?而插班考試係咪勁難ga?

初小唔辛苦ga咩?咁外間咪好多錯誤觀點囉!係咪上到小三或小四程度會一個轉變呢?

無亞，我d女無咁有幅氣，但我識有人插班入去!

小二難插d，小四後就易d !

初小未係好多功課，但都有要求架 ，尤期英文科 !

入到就比心機讀都得 !

照計插班應該係越早越易,起碼越少才藝上的競爭,只要做好基本上的學術要求便可

actually, a lot of parents have a wrong impression that kids studying in these presitigious schools must be very 辛苦, of course 外間好多錯誤觀點!! Students (i should say MOST students) from schools like DGS, Maryknoll, DBS, La Salle, St Paul's etc etc study happily and not 辛苦.... that's the reason why these schools remain as prestigious because they will not FORCE their students to do tons of homework or exams but still maintain a very high academic standard.
If you want to have your kid enter these schools eg Maryknoll as stated in this topic, of course 有機會!! But i would say that don't FORCE your child to attend hundred of classes or activities which they have no interest at all, how can someone excel in something which they have zero interest? He sure will not become a happy child!
Every year has a chance, even until secondary school.

my brother's daughter is studying in one of the schools you've just mentioned. One of her classmates got 85 marks "only" in a test and her parents were asked to see the teacher. The teacher said that the girl should show improvement or she would be advised to go away.  :cry:  :cry:  :cry:  And Maryxxxx has 4 tests and 2 exam. in a year!!

at least the teacher show enthusiasm and concern of the kid-- there must be a reason why the teacher want to see the parent.... you should appreciate the effort of teacher to spend extra time seeing the parent! There must be a reason behind, don't just consider the 'mark'. If the whole class got 100 marks and some only got 80, then there must be a weakness somewhere and the teacher only want to help the kid and help her improve!
Regarding Maryxxxx having 4 tests and 2 exams in a year.... that isn't a lot is it!? I believe in some schools, 2 exams and tens or scores of tests are just minimal.

如果想要在小四插班，而小朋友目前就讀的算是地區岀名的小學，那需要全級攷第幾名才較有機會插入？
