DBSPD Open Day in January. Do you want to come??

For 2006/07, I witnessed DBSPD accepting students who came from middle class family, no religion, no connection, not old boy, no donation.  I also witnesses children of old boys who have connection and other "right" elements not accepted.  I hope that this settles the rumour about conspiracy of the admission procedures.

There is open day in January.  Those who are interested can send me PM for details.

我老細個仔連2nd in 都無, 後來捐左$500萬, 之後DBSPD就收左佢個仔, 仲有, 我個仔o個班有4 個classmates 入到DBSPD, 佢地o既父母都係專業人事(律師, 醫生), 仲係基督徒, 有一個daddy仲係old boy.

所以, 我覺得DBSPD今年係收多左no religion, no connection, not old boy, no donation o既 students,
但佢地仍然會特別"照顧"有religion, connection,  donation 同埋父母係專業人事, daddy係old boy, o既 students.

Dear Pansy

When I went to church, the minister taught me that a church is not the building but those worshipping in it.  A good school is not made up of a nice building or the site but only of its ability to produce good all-rounded students.

I trust that good outstanding students come from all kinds of families regardless of their background.  Good students from geniune parents come from all walks and sections of life.

If money could buy a place at the school, this matter should be brought to the attention of ICAC.  If DBSPD wishes to sell its places, it could do so openly under a debenture system.

If you are in possession of evidence which could bring those to justice, let justice be done.  If this is just a "yarn", then accept my apologies for taking it too seriously

No offence meant.  I make no pretence as being a keen supporter of the school.

The fact is that I came from a most ordinary family in 1970s where my parents were close to being illiterate.  They made no donations and could not even read a single line of English.  The school made a difference in my humble life

Those who has money to donate and wants to get into DBSPD can politely ask Pansy21 as to who to write the cheque to and how much.  See you at DBSPD in 2007/08.  

Those who are good parents and sincere about getting into the school can PM me and I shall see them at DBSPD on 22nd January.  I will give them a few tips on how to best prepare their application.  We will also see you in 2007/08.

On the other hand, I have ever come across of  Pansy 21's same comment at other topics, I doubt whether Pansy 21 can offer more substantial or concrete evidence in support its version, otherwise I think most sensible DBSPD parents would just treat as a groundless rumour or even a somebody sour grape. Frankly speaking the ones who can offer an amount more than 50000 so as to get a seat in DBSPD are really 多的是 in Hong Kong

Don't want to offend but I do agree with Pansy21 for a certain extent because I have info from a reliable source.  Anyway, it is up to the individual to believe it or not.

I have been a member of the old boy association and I have close links with the Headmaster of both DBS and DBSPD.  

I have been asked a thousand times whether one can buy a place and I always reply give me a check and I will find out for you.  In the past ten odd years, there is alot of talk and I never had a cheque in hand to find out the truth.

If a place is for sale under table, report the bastard to ICAC.  

If I were the headmaster/headmistress, I would allow the son of a person who donated HK$5m to Po Leung or Tung Wah into my school.  Getting in is OK, staying in and surviving is another

在1800人中能揀入DBSPD中的150個,部份學生的家長係專業人士也很正常,話晒DBSPD一條龍,睇埋中學又係band 1英中,大多數的家長也會選為心儀學校之一,有d家長話收了仲頭痕也會試下面試

應該這樣說,我有一醫生朋友同銀行總裁(+old boy)個囝囝都未能入讀,所以好睇個細路當日面試反應

特別照顧方面,只要家長係較主動會多聯絡老師,老師也自然對自己既小朋友了解多d,接受度也會多d

至於捐錢,我問校長佢話唔需要(當時我係third interview),入左之後支持學校則作別論

我地都係四冇人仕 (no religion, no connection, not old boy, no donation) 同埋父母唔係咩專業人事, 到現在重未發現個囝有乜"special talent".不過都被取錄為06/07年度小一生.我都想知點樣可以捐$500萬,等我教吓想讀d朋友,叫佢借都借返嚟,唔駛去interview咁辛苦.仲包得添!
