Music sheet for violin

Why there are so few music sheets for violin ?
The music shop sales teach me to use the piano music sheet to play violin. But you only need to play the most upper note in the music sheet. Does it work ?

Dear bbtung,
That's weird! I've never heard of that.  Your child's violin instructor should be able to give you a piece of music with only the treble clef for the violin.  You'd better discuss with the violin instructor before you buy any of those music sheets.
