考1至５級是無須先考樂理的。

I've visited the website. thanks a lot! But the date of exam is not fixed yet. And the range is very large--from Aug to Nov.  Do u know normally violin grade 2-3 will be arranged early or late within this period?

My kid is 5 yr more. She has been learning violin for 1 year. She has good progress and picks up the skill fast and understanding the note very well. I'm thinking of letting her  join the exam. I'm no dare to ask her teacher since he is a very serious person.    
Is it common for a 5/5.5 yrs old kid to attend the grade 2/3 exam? Some ppl said grade 2 cert. is no use,and skip the grade 1,2 exam,is it true? How can I know the songs which the exam require to play?

I understand that the examination date is fixed randomly from computer.

It's quite uncommon for a 5.5. years old kid to attend the grade 2 exam.  Usually, the kid will learn violin start at 6 or even 8 years old. It is very hard to ask a small to hold and play the violin for long.

How long does she practise everytime ? How many days does she practise in a week ?

Be careful of the posture ! Small kids may get hurt at the backbone easily during playing the violin.

She prastice violin 30mins everyday. Is it to much? But I think she does not hold the violin in a right way. Seem it's not high encough and her neck doesn't like to turn to the left side.

Actually how many songs have to be play in an exam and how long does the exam take ? I don't know much about violin and the exam.

Usually there will be about one month advance  notice to the examination. You are required to play three pieces , several scales , sight reading and aural testing in the examination.


You daughter prastices violin 30mins everyday. It's amazing ! Such a small kid can hold the violin for 30 minutes everyday.  Do you have any method to stimulate her interest in practice the violin ? Or your violin teacher has any teacher method ? Which book are you using now ?

Once again, take care about the posture of your daughter to prevent from getting hurt.

How can I know which 3 pieces it require? What is the aural testing?  How long does the exam takes? Can parent be accompany?

The book is " strctly string" Is it common to use ? Do u know what kind of method the teacher uses by knowing the book?

She practises everyday is all my efforts.   I accompany her to play everyday and give her a lots of praises after every peice...  At first,she only practise 5 mins a day,but I didn't mind. The points is I require she pristices EVERYDAY. After half year she play longer time. I don't know music at all,I'm also afraid her posture has problem. I will pay attention to this . thank you very much!

I am afraid that your violin teacher could give you a more clear picture to you than me.

Anyway, from the best of my knowledge, I would like to have the following response.

1. You can find the details of examination pieces, scales, sight reading , aural testing from the exam books published by ABRSM in most music co. like Tom Lee.

2.   Parents cannot  accompany with your kid during the examination.

3.   The examination time may take approximate 20 - 40 minutes. It's quite vary for different students.

請問aural是點考?是否聽了個音跟住拉番出黎?

個琴其實應該點放?係咪10點鐘位置?or11點鐘住位置?琴頭又要放幾高? 考官睇唔睇姿勢?

針對exam,30mins each day 足夠嗎?

I think she has not achieved grade 3 level as you described.
Is that most of the teachers do not like the students to attend grade 1 & 2 exams? Do you think after 1 yr study, students is able to attend the exam?

Is grade 2 arual much more easier?

How about the atmosphere of the exam, do the examiers very serious? Do u think the little one will be frightened?

路過於此, 我女都是學小提琴的. 但因我對小提琴一無所知. 你地的詳細對答令我獲益良多, 真是要講句多謝!!   

我女而家8歲學左年半有多(冇piano 底), 唔算勤力, 要成日提先肯練琴, 而家每日通常30分鐘. 但唔太主動. 原本老師schedule 佢出年4月考琴3級, 但佢話以而家進度, 未必得. 因個音拉唔準, (我女人比較比急) 我亦唔想side 無謂錢.  :evil: 想問其實應付一次考試的大概洗費要幾多, e.g. 考試費, 場地, 賽前伴奏, 臨場伴奏......   

題外話: 8歲先考2級普遍嗎??
