I have a boy studying at K1 now at SN, wish the following info helps you to have some idea about SN.

For K1 class, 40 mins of English daily, the english lessons start from alphabets and have phonics taught. We have readers of coz and also show and tell session. Shapes, and colours are also taught in english and chinese. The school emphasize on readings a lot and encourage parents to read together with their baby as much as we can. They will have certificate if you completed certain level. However, some reading programmes are optional and need to pay extra money to join.

The Chinese lesssons starts from simple words, like 人, 口, 水.etc. Basically the chinese lessons use thematic approach. E.g. 上學了, 中秋節. The theme is coherent with the PTH lessons, which is a 20 mins session twice per week. Frankly, it's pretty difficult for my boy to catch up with the Chi syllabus, but he can recognize the words and sing songs taught at school now.

For maths, I am not sure it was taught in English or Chinese, my boy knows how to count before go to school.

For homework, 2 to 4 page colouring or line tracing exercise daily now. Additional supplementary worksheet occasionally. Sometimes the exercise becomes 4+ pages on holidays and weekend. The teacher are amazing that my boy know how to properly draw lines now. The homeworks are target to prepare the baby to write, not really writing words.

Assessment of the above subjects will be conducted by the end of Nov for 1st semester. Don't know when will it be in 2nd sem.

Regardings extra-curricular activities (e.g. art, dancing, etc), courses are offered to both am and pm classes. However, no school bus service is arranged for those who come to school early or back home late. Some classes are arranged on Sat.

The kids have PE lessons twice per week. Wish the above info helps!

謝謝您的資料. 請問小朋友返學開唔開心, 老師表現有無愛心, 老師和家長溝通是否足夠?

有k1家長話中文堂是一星期3次? 是真的嗎?

應該天天有中文or PTH. 不過, 因為是主題教學, 可能是用教常識的方法, 不是小學般針對中文字來教. 也就是不能說天天有中文課, 但班主任是香港人, 日常排洗, 體育堂是中文instruct.

我仔仔很喜歡SN,佢自己改歌詞唱:金巴倫,好開心好好玩!
好好笑!
以前未返SN,我喺屋企同佢講國語,佢好抗拒,但而家好中意,會成日唱國語歌

阿仔返學返得超開心呀, 日日唱晒歌, 返嚟都歌不離口, 仲成日改歌詞, 笑到我肚痛.

老師對小朋友有愛心, 我問阿仔like唔like老師, 佢都答我yes同happy school.

老師同家長溝通, 我覺得好足啦~因為阿仔唔小心仆一下, 整倒小小, 請病假, 課堂表現好左, 班主任都會打嚟同我講. 不過, 當然啦, 唔好expect老師日日打嚟, 多數有特別事(好or壞)發生至call我地, 手冊上的每月進度的comment亦只有tick格, 無specific individual comment.

同埋, SN始終歷史較悠久, 用的exercise同worksheet比較SC, LH呢啲咁靚嘅, SN style會比較舊, 但係我見小朋友真係有進步. 講嘢唱歌都好過以前. 我小朋友之前無返過N班, 有家長話SN有啲內容同N班重覆, 甚至更淺, 咁我真係唔知嘞.

我個仔尋日突然用PTH數數字, 又用Jingle bell 個tune唱英文1234, 笑死我.
