本人今年希望為大仔申請聖保羅書院小學小一,
希望請教以下問題:
1) 程度是否艱深
2) 功課量如何
3) 有無精英班
4) 面試內容和要注意的地方

1) 程度是否艱深
As it is an English primary school, the English standard is a little bit higher, for other subjects, no different with other schools.

2) 功課量如何
Reasonable, can finish within an hour.

3) 有無精英班
No elite classes.

4) 面試內容和要注意的地方
The Headmistress will consider whether the child is attentive, polite and 不要攤響梳化 during interview.

Headmistress will ask some general questions and at last ask the child to answer some question concerning a selected picture.

Not accept profile.

It seems that the headmistress has no preference to particular kindergarten, some students just come from ordinary (not famous) kindergarten.

Hi Ahming,

I have checked the website of St. Paul Boys. It shows that the school will only accept 5 pages profile.

I am pleased to know that some students are from ordinary kindergarten. The pressure for ordinary students will not be high, right?

However, I still consider the other choices such as 港大同學會, 高主教... Being a parent is not easy...

My son is from ordinary kinder, he is adapt to P.1 very smooth and fast, he is happy to go to school.

St. Paul Boy is our favorite school and we are planning to apply this school for our son.  

1) Can any St. Paul Boy's moms give us some advices for planning ?

2) Do they look into the family whether they are rich or not?  

3) What would the details during the interview with The Headmistress and what will be the possible questions ?

1) Can any St. Paul Boy's moms give us some advices for planning ?
=> Train yr child not to be shy, be polite and showing confidence (be able to answer questions with elaboration -- ie. not just "yes"/"no")

2) Do they look into the family whether they are rich or not?  
=> I don't think so, my family is not rich!

3) What would the details during the interview with The Headmistress and what will be the possible questions ?
=> Questions not difficult! Just ordinary questions, but will ask the child to tell a story (or to complete a story) according to picture, or to give comment of a particular character of the story.

Actually my son will be K1 in coming Sept, we would really like to plan more before he gets to K3. Can we ask you two more questions? :  

1) Any particular 課外活動 that may help during kindergarten time?

2) Would it be the case that priority will be given to those students who have reference letters from any staff / board members from St. Paul Boys' College / Primary School ?

=> music, art or sports will do.  They don't have particular preference on activities.  Actually, the principal said clearly that they want the kid to engage in just a few activities (with prolong learning) so that they have some engagement to kill time, instead of staying at home watching TV.

2) Would it be the case that priority will be given to those students who have reference letters from any staff / board members from St. Paul Boys' College / Primary School ?
=> I don't think it is very important.  For me, I don't have any recommendation letter at all.

聖保羅書院(慣稱St.Paul Boy's)現為直資學校，自行收生不受banding限制。就我們接觸的家長指該校對學生的家庭狀況頗為著重，收生時也特別考慮這方面，校內同學間的階級觀念也頗重，論成績當屬中上。

係咪有階級? 起碼我而家唔覺, 係咪中學至有, 我又唔知wo!
