以香港父母之角度去睇,當然想子女學得快,所以好多人都為子女選擇鋼琴班,一般都好希望子女可快考得八級成績.  不過以一些外籍考官之觀點,其實香港好多所謂八級之學生even係老師，根本未達水準，在佢地眼中只值四至五級水平．原因係香港老師一代傳一代式，只管彈琴，好多野都唔識教，又不肯學，例如作曲，編曲，即興，和聲，聽唱，學團指揮概念等．

香港的老師已被大時代形勢同化，大家都認為只要學生彈好曲目，準備好Scales，Aural同Sight Reading靠平時，考試就無問題，滿以為已對得住家長同學生．．．．．．家長也認為反正都考試合格，無所謂．．．．．．

好多考完試．學滿師下山既學生以為自己已經好叻，不過大家都發現一個現象，就係這些學生只會彈，而且大多只會依照琴譜彈，通常多只會彈考試歌，連父母或朋友所喜歡的歌也彈唔到，又不能創作．．．．．對音樂認知也很好笑，只懂把音樂分時期，或Style似邊個．．．．．．有些老師寫譜簡直十分恐怖，又話自己有教樂理，原來只紙上談兵，寫譜時無Harmony無Style.

不要怪這些老師，因為佢地都係咁樣學成，有的會到大學進修（大學教好了好多人），但有的永遠都是這樣 ．．．．．

這麼多年，我比較喜歡教那些學過Yamaha或Suzuki的學生，他們真的很聰明，可能是小時慢功出細貨；那些未學過Yamaha或Suzuki的，好多都要由頭教過，比較費氣力，我真的不想他們只得一張成績表．

Do u mean that Yamaha = jmc in tom lee? Then what is the meaning of Suzuki?
My girl now in 3.5 year old and learning music wonderland thro' tom lee and I'm wonder is that good to keeping learn in jmc.

我囝囝剛完成了jmc，另外，佢４歲開始在琴行學琴。有一段時間，兩者係有ｄ conflict，不過佢好快適應到。因為學琴是個人的學習活動，jmc則是班際活動，我希望佢從兩者都有得益。

不過，我在通利見到加學費的通告，今次加幅都好大。所以當你的小朋友課餘活動的時間有限時，應該只選一樣(either jmc or piano lesson)，留番多d時間同佢好公園玩吓，仲更加有益身心。

Yamaha course does not only mean JMC, most of my student who learnt Yamaha courses before have already completed JMC and JXC, even some of them have completed JAC (very talented one).  

Actually I don't know what is "Wonderland", maybe it is something like preparation level course.  I don't know well about Yamaha course, but in my assessment on the "new comers" from JMC course, they are smart, very confidence, they have good hearing, good attitude in learning music, some of them even strong in academic performance, maybe this is side-effect from learning music (but I am not sure).

For those "new comers" from JXC, they have all advantages as JMC student, besides of these, they know how to write harmony, they always shock me on this because even though many Tradition-type piano teacher can't do this.  Although JMC/JXC "new comer" don't have very good keyboard skill, their aggressive characters can always lead them learn quickly, you will always find that they are treasured in music.

I have only 2 student completed Suzuki courses before, and they learnt Suzuki in Singapore.  They also have very good hearing skill and strong confidence, they also can write so-touching melody/harmony, teaching them also very interesting.

Yamaha course is the most popular Playground type course in Hong Kong, while Suzuki is not so famous in Hong Kong, but the idea and method is very similar to Yamaha course.

In my opinion, student completed Yamaha/Suzuki courses always at Age 8-9, it is still very young to learn advanced instrument skill.  I suggest your child to continue learning in one system, don't stop, don't change, let it be completed.  Besides, please always enjoy and appreciate with your child in music, this is very good for them in learning process. I hope everyone like music more than just only like instrument.

仔仔上jmc真係好enjoy，雖然只係book 2，但係聽音真係幾好，有時有興緻到用自己有限ge知識作d好肉酸ge歌0黎唱。 :

其實我都想緊jmc進度係咪太慢，而家睇0左你ge意見，好似當頭棒喝0甘，提番自己點解想個仔學音樂，個人清醒0左，我想我會遲d先比個仔私人學琴。

我的想法和你一樣,我小朋友己完成JMC. JMC中他吸 收了很多,聽音,聽chord,配chord,keyboard harmony,都是一般學琴不能學到的,我還諗住繼續俾他學四年的JSAC,可惜暫未成班.

jmc 係好好train 耳仔既course, 不過最大既weakness 就係學完之後, 睇譜較弱, 所以jmc 既老師有無係course 裡面, 加多番睇譜既training 就好重要

至於配chord 之類, 其實學鋼琴都可以加入呢d training, 只係: 老師做唔做、課堂有無時間俾個老師甘做、學生願唔願意做

Dear masfamily,

Besides of continuing the course, please always enjoy with your child's practice and sharing of her music, if you can show your positive attention, she will feel that she can overcome any difficulty in the process, and one day she will success. (I always tell this to the parent of my student, this really works)

你唔需要讀music wonderland都可以直接報讀jmc。當然亦有d小朋友讀完9個月的music wonderland後,接著報讀jmc。
