Can anyone describe the assessment and examination system in primary school?
How about the public results in CEE & A-level in secondary school ? Can anyone show the location?

Hi darkcoffee,

I'm Heep Yunn girls' parents,
but honestly, I don't know too much about the exact percentage of promotion to the secondary school.
But they seems to be mostly (unless their results are too too bad) can promote to the secondary school.

My girl is in P.3 now, she has one assessment and one examination in one semester.

That's what I can provide, hope can help.

Thank You. May I ask some more questions? Is the workload of school work heavy? How about the dictations and compositions?

After they changed the principle, the loading of homework is much heavier than the past.  
It's about 6-8 homeworks per day.
If there's a long weekend, mostly will have 13-15 homeworks.
Normally, they'll have one Chinese and one English dictation per week, sometimes, maybe two weeks.
In my memories, they have 5 Chinese compositions and 5 English compositions in the last semester.

Please tell me what is your comments on the new principal?  Is there any big changing? Better or worse than before?

Em........it's really hard to comment, cause different people have different character ma.

The past principle loves smile, she always wears a smiling face, children love to talk to her, play with her and write to her.  
But some parents' commented that she's too kind to be a principle that children are studying in a non-pressure environment, at a certain point, children don't pay much attention to study.

The new principle looks much serious, she pays lots of attention to children's studies. Maybe that's a good change for the Heep Yunn girls under nowadays Education Revolution, they should keep up their works to maintain the good fame of Heep Yunn.

The school life in Heep Yunn is happy, most of Heep Yunn girls are full of confidence, they enjoy their school life very much!!

My daughter will be P1 in the coming Sept in Heep Yunn. She is learning piano now but she also want to learn violin or cello. Could you please tell me as follows?
1. Can Heep Yunn provide the musical instruments class for learn violin or cello?
2.  Are the extra activities hold on weekday or weekend?
3.  If she joins the extra activities, when will she leave school?
4.  If she joins the schools bus, will she miss the school bus?

---Some on weekdays, some one weekend

3.  If she joins the extra activities, when will she leave school?
---Depends to the class your daughter joins

4.  If she joins the schools bus, will she miss the school bus?
---Besides the school bus after normal finish school   hour, there'll be another school bus at 16:30, it's for the kindergarten students, if you can meet the time, then you can take this bus too.

Yes, exactly the same, the difference is short or long, thin or thick only.

I hear from someone, if the student can't swim, they will fail the PE subject. Could you please let me know the details?

Actually, they prefer students can swim.
But it's not a compulsory, don't be afraid, teachers will let those can't swim use the float plate (浮板）.

1. Do HY use phonics to teach English?
2. Do u think that HY's English standard is good or  not? Some parent tell me that HY's Chinese level is much higher than that of English. Their children need to 讀很多成語.
3. 請問返學放學幾點呢? 我見我那區的校車接近8:00才到是否返9點?
