Are these series of books suitable for 6 years old to read ?

其实唔算好深, 但亦不算易.  只是字比較多及少插圖, 小朋友不會有很大的興趣去完成.  我個女今年升小二, 睇完幾頁就冇興趣繼續了.  她是看得明的, 只是看得比較吃力所以提不起興趣去完成.

i think it is O.K. for 6 years old kids.  My daughter (6.5 years old) finished 1/3 of them.  But she only picks some interesting one to read. She prefers to read children bible more than magic tree house.

In fact, this set of books are very good.  My daughter has learnt a lot of knowledges from this set of books.

But the one suitable for P5 - F1 are level 3. However about the Level 1. Anyone seems the level 1 before?? How's your kid's ability???
Due my son is interesting the content of the story book, but it's a bit hard for him to finish the whole story book by himself. (Be honest). However, the levels of the Oxford trees are suitable for me still. (upto the level 4-5) By the way, he is age 6.5 now.

#3 - Mummies in the Morning
#9 - Dolphins at Daybreak

因為係chapter book,所以picture係少d,但d字唔太深, 小一應該睇得明.

唔知出面最平會賣幾多錢一本呢?因我朋友話係加拿大賣hk$95有四本,唔知低唔低呢?

有28本,好似全套係$7xx.  唔記得了.

我個女話好睇, 每次兩個主角去不同國家都換上不同的當地衣服.  不過刚在日本城買了一set "dear god" 8本共60元.寫得好好, 文字淺白,我對仔女呢兩日重覆睇了好多次, 問了好多問題.  個女更扮專家說是"very easy to read and beautiful english'.

"Magic tree house"是Level 3 readings.  有很多冊, 可以在圖書館借到.  可以借本回家給小朋友看看.  我也是借了一本回家給亞女睇, 因為想佢學睇Chapter books.  亞女鍾意睇書但對這本興趣不大, 所以我估計係因為佢未習慣睇Chapter book 及本書的插圖太少, 不夠吸引.  我自己就睇完那本書, 覺得本書應該是小二應該可以睇得明, 小三、四程度會較適合.  不過, 每個小朋友的英文程度都不一樣, 家長自己先看看再決定吧！

The set looks quite interesting. Where can I get a set?

My son has finished the Oxford Reading Tree (stage 9) already, is it a big jump from ORT to this Magic Tree House series?

I think children like series, they can get to know the characters better, and that may be one of the reasons why the ORT is so successful and popular.

Are there any other good series you care to recommend for a 6 year old?

Dear Chatterbox,

I bought the set of "Dear God" from Japanese Home.  It was on stock clearance last week.  I don't know if you could get this set of books from other Japanese Home as the shopkeeper told me that was the only set in their shop.

Oxford Reading Tree is a very good set.  My daughter borrowed them from public liabrary.  The standard of stage 9 is not bad for a 6 year old boy.  You may bring your son to the bookshop and let him read couple of Magic Tree House books there.  As MTH set has less picture, you have to encourage your son to have a try and get used of it.  If he really doesn't want it, you may let him try another set first and then try again MTH after couple of months.  Before asking him to try MTH, you may go to the MTH website and let him play the game first.  It may helps.

第1-28集有softcover books, 但29-35則只有hardcover.
小囡話好睇(我相信係, 因為佢真係一本接一本咁睇, 睇到"廢寢忘餐")

Glad to hear some little girls like Magic Tree House.   

I have tried to introduce Magic Tree House to my daughter as a beginnng chapter book.  I personaly find the story very interesting, informative and inspiring.  Unfortunately, she doesn't find it interesting.       "字比較多及少插圖" is one of the obstacle

She loves to read Disney Princess.  Unfortunately, this time, I do have some reservation on too many fairy tale princess stories.   

Any fruitful experience for chapter book series which is easy and enjoyable for beginner, but something other than fairy tale princess?

My son is 6.5  yrs  old now. My son finished #25 of Magic Tree House.  At the very beginning aroudn #1 to 10, he need to reads my accompany.  Now he can finishes a book only three only by his silent reading.  He always ask me to buy the following nos.  But I have no time yet.  He since likes these book very much.  

Other than this, any good recommend for boys.  Please advise.
