Re.: Grey Sock
I bought them from market / FaYuen Street.  Couldn't remember the price, probably around $10 -$15 each pair. Quite a few of different brands in FaYuen Street, you can test the sock's elasticity before buying them.  My daughter wore them two/three winters already, still in good quality. Some P1 parents said they bought grey socks from Sogo and YueWa Chinese department store.  You may also go there have a look!

  唉！仔仔病了，喉嚨痛，發炎，有小小發燒，看完醫生，吃了藥，好轉了些。如果明早太的話就要請假一天了。
請問，請假要有D咩手續?
         要早上打電話回學校請假?
         還是要出email 給 teacher 呢?

         那麼，做了的功課怎樣交呢?是否後天上課時才交呢?

         明天的功課又點取呢是否，要後天上課時才取回，補做功課呢?

You can just call to the general office to report sick leave tomorrow morning.
Your son can submit the homework when he returns to school the day after.
For tomorrow's homework, you can ask the staff of the general office to pass it to the school bus nanny and then you/your maid can collect it from the school bus nanny when the school bus drops by your school bus stop tomorrow after school.

I did go to Fayuen Street to buy the socks on Wed. night. It costs $18 per a pair. And then buy 3 get 2 free, so on average only $10.4/a pair.
However, then I got headache and pretty sick for yesterday whole day.....

All,
A few questions on Eng. ex. would like to seek for advice:
1. I have got 2 eyes, a big nose ....
Why we use "have got" and not just "have"?
2. How many brothers have you got? My son put the answer as "I have no brothers." I asked why you put "brothers"  instead of "brother". He said that it's teacher taught that.
Should be "brother" or "brothers" after "no"??

Start to question about my own English capability and I think I need re-education??

pth 我唔見有派考試範圍紙wow!  仔仔成日抄漏手冊,  咁岩有日我接放學, 要求同仔仔上班房對手冊,先知要考pth. e-class都冇寫.  真係miss 左都唔知!

"I have no brother" & "I have no brothers" are both correct.  "I have got......" is also correct.

我d英文只係有限公司, 但都想提下,
1)  而家小一教如何用 have got, 所以老師想小朋友單一用have got去學作所有句子. 有些句子是用have got 或 have 都岩. 所以唔認為你有錯.

2) 如果有人問: How many brothers and sisters have you got? 我會答  I've got no brothers and sisters.  所以我會用brothers.

仔仔以前以PTH學中文, 以為佢好o.k.  點知而家d worksheets做錯晒,  拼音又唔係好得, 好似冇上過堂一樣!!! 我都未同佢溫, 唔知點同佢溫好!

pth oral, 以前要考, 今年未派紙, 應唔會太難.

朗誦比賽, 搵老師教了四堂, 我仔26號, 靠佢自己到時發揮了!

好似應該係咁 'I have no brothers.'  因為這裡的 brothers 是指'兄弟', 所以無論有無, 都是概念詞--又或者可以咁講, 因為要組成'brothers'是要有'兄'和'弟'的, at lease 2, 所以 概念形成 brother's' , 並不是'單'問1, 2, 3, 4, 5...的數字上問題.

Hi, all,
Thanks for everyone sharing on English. It's a good case that we should have continuous learning.

婥蔚媽咪,
regarding your daughter Chinese writing is very slow. One tip not sure if it's application to you. The reason for my son writing very slow is that he writes very HARD that even after a few pages, we can see the mark. The Kumon teacher suggested us to use "B" pencil instead of "HB". Recently we bought the "B" and "2B" pencil in China (only cost RMB0.8/pc vs HK$5.5/pc for Germany made one). It helps a lot and he starts to write lighter and the "B" pencil is relatively "smoother". So, you need to understand the reason behind.
Lastly on PTH, very frankly, pinyin is very difficult. My son and myself stayed in Beijing for 26 months and he attended more than 20 hrs on pinyin class in HK (personally, I think the quality of  the Mandarin class in HK varies a lot and not so effective), my son still can't manage very well and I'm even worse and worse than him. Anyhow, he said that he is one of the 4 small PTH teachers standing in front of the blackboard to demo the prounciation and he said that most of the classmates don't know how to do the exercise (include himself, he is not sure). So, no need to worry...

thanks, heidikl, i will try it. i will try everything that may help her.

for pth, i just told my girl to try her best, and just take a revision for the chapters she learnt.
