港IB考生平均分超全球 英基加拿大國際漢基包攬7滿分狀元

加拿大國際學校乃今年本港IB狀元比率最高的學校。


愈來愈多香港學生到海外升學，令報讀IB課程的學生亦上升。


中產家長對國際文憑試（IBDP，International Baccalaureate Diploma）趨之若鶩，原來本港IB考生亦特別標青！今屆全港共出產7名滿分IB狀元，比率為全球考生的3倍；狀元以外的考生亦屬高水平，以45分為滿分，港生平均分高達34.3，較全球平均分更高出4.6分。

本報比拼各校IB成績亦發現，英基轄下5校、加拿大國際及漢基國際學校包攬7名狀元，漢基的考生平均分冠絕香港。

今年5月舉辦的IBDP考試上周放榜，全港有13間學校，總共1,200多人報考；每年一月開學的澳洲國際學校，亦有約30名考生，參加了去年底舉辦的上屆IB試。

滿分狀元比率 高全球2倍

港生在這個國際試的表現如何？本報向IB辦公室查詢後發現，港生的IB成績及狀元比率，原來超越了全球整體水平（見表）。

狀元數目方面，今屆共有7名考生奪得滿分45分，佔全體考生近0.6%，較全球狀元比率、即近0.2%，高出兩倍，可謂狀元搖籃。

港生的平均分亦鶴立雞群，最近6年，全球考生平均分一直介乎29至31分，但港生遠超於此，今屆平均分達34.3，較同屆全球平均分高出4.6分；合格率亦接近97%，較全球水平高出19個百分點。

加拿大國際 狀元比率稱冠

本報獲全數14間歷屆有學生應考IB試的學校提供考生成績，包括轄下5間中學有考生應考的英基。

比拼各學校的表現可發現，英基、加拿大國際及漢基可謂大贏家。

英基5校包攬了最多、合共4名狀元，但論狀元比率，則以加拿大國際學校取勝，該校考生較少，但仍出產兩名狀元，佔其考生2%；漢基有1名狀元，平均分是全港之冠，達36.6分。

李寶椿聯合世界書院雖沒狀元誕生，但仍出產了9名奪44分的「榜眼」，及6名奪43分的「探花」。

港生在IB試表現優異，令人欣喜，但值得留意的是，這不反映全港學生水平。

9中學辦課程 涉男拔弘立

現時報考IB試的，全為家長爭崩頭的國際學校和直資學校，取錄的大多是尖子，考生質素自然較有保證；反觀，不少國家IB教育普及化，學生質素參差，難免被表現遜色的考生，拖低整體成績。

事實上，本港除了上述14間學校已報考IBDP外，亦有9間中學於本學年或下學年開辦IBDP課程，最快明年有首屆考生出爐，全為著名國際、直資或私立學校，包括拔萃男書院、聖保羅男女中學、弘立書院等，相信可令港生在IB試中保持佳績。

My kids are studying in IB pathway school in the lower primary grade now. I just want to ask is it a marking on the extracurricular activities (musical instrument, sports, etc) in the DP exam. which will affect the final mark or results of DP. Also, how do the extracurricular activites affect the chance of university admission?

Can't say these results are very encouraging.

Of the 56 students, only 17 (less than 1/3) managed to score 35 or above.   The majority are very average: 28 of them, exactly half of the total 56 students, got 30 - 34.  Quite a significant number, 11 of them, got 29 or below.  And, one failed to get a diploma.

Seems that VSA has a lot of work to do.

Language + literature - less literatures, more on business communication, different appreciation of materials, like poster, drama...... that what I know right now.

No, my son picked Physics only. He picked Chem, Phy & Economics.

You can check the Cambridge website or the student room website which has the best info for medicine in UK.

In that case, her choices are pretty open.

her maths is not very outstanding. her results are average in her class (she takes mathematics extension and was chosen in the elite class), so it might be a bit tough for her to catch up. if we choose SL maths, the probability of getting a 7 is higher. Yes we know that there is only A and B, but the school still calls A as A1..

All combinations are good for medicine and business. if she may take economics or quantitative finance at university level, maths may need HL - 7.

The school suggests 3 HL and 3 SL. That will be Chi A1 HL Eng A1 SL Maths SL Econ SL Chem HL Bio HL. Is this combination fine for Hong Kong students?
Which year your daughter sit for IBDP? From 2013 onward no A1, A2, B, only A & B. Pls check with teachers. Personally, I suggest her to consider Maths HL instead of Chinese HL. The combination may be better.

I don't know if they were round out figure as I read that in newspaper. 32-32 may not be a figure that people would say 'great'. But in my searching for ib result in uk independent schools, such figure  could be found in some schools in the league tables. Did VSA issue detail breakdown like lpc?What about university destination?
