I think the questionnaire is as important as the interview performance, I have spent alot of time on the questionnaire.
On the interview day, my family were waited at waiting room where alot of soft blocks and some toys can be found, within 5 mins my son's name was being called, and we went into the interview room.
Please pay attention here as you and the kid are being observed once you enter the room.
1. We sat down at the big table to play with the legos, a few mins after, a teacher approached us and started asking my son some Qs (inc what is your name, what are you playing, can you stack up the legos, can you tidy up the toys).
2. teacher held my son's hand and asked us to follow her to her table which was just a few steps from where we were. luckily my son didnt refuse teacher to hold his hand, and he basically followed the teacher to her table.
3. Once we were at her table, teacher shown 3 different animal cards to my son and asked him to identify dog and cat, then another 3 different fruit cards and asked my son to identify the banana and pear.
4. Next the teacher gave my son a fake sweetcorn, cup and spoon, and asked him to pass a specific item to mum, dad and teacher herself.
5. Teacher gave a little bag to my son, and asked him what is it inside the bag, and my son answered her, ball ball, teacher then asked my son to take the ball out and put it back in the bag.
6. Teacher asked me some common Qs, like who takes care of the kid, what activities do you do with the kid, how much time do you spend with the kid a day. one last Q she asked me was " can you tell me how do you feel if your son is being at the same school for 4 whole years" - in fact this Q was out of my expectation, so i didnt answer it properly.
thats the end of the interview.
hope this helps, and good luck to u all. |
