Clinical training is a major component of dentist training where can only be done in dental clinic.  In the past 10 years, clinical training cost of self financed TPG is neither paid by TPG or HKU, it was subsidized by taxpayers.  In the peak, over 100 TPG were trained in Prince Philip Dental Hospital.

Master of Dental Surgery is a TPG program, clinical training is a major component where can only be done in dental clinic.  In the peak, over 100 TPG of self financed program were training in Prince Philip Dental Hospital.  For the clinical training cost was neither paid by TPG students or HKU, it was subsidized by taxpayer!  Few years ago, training a undergraduate dentist cost over 4 millions in 5 years program.
