soft c and soft g is followed by i, e, not a, o, u.
e.g. cinema is soft c, cent is soft c, car, cow, cute are hard c.
e.g. ginger and gem are soft g, gate, goat, gulf are hard g.

Hi do-re-me,
You try to pronounce the words cinema, cent and car, etc. you will then figure out the sound of soft c and hard c.
soft c- pronounce softer
hard c - c with a louder c sound
